Sticker Removal Challenge

Lia loves stickers and when she was younger she would cover everything with stickers. Most came off easily so it was no big problem. Through the years her dresser was covered with unicorns, fairies, princesses and butterflies.

Since she is now older, she will turn FIVE YEARS OLD in August, it was time to re-organize her room so the stickers had to go. Mommy said she was going to get a new dresser because of all the stickers but I figured they could be removed. I started peeling them off but then realized I was facing a sticker removal challenge since some had been on for over 4 years. When Lia and I started to remove them, the sticker face came off but the backing stuck on like glue.

I received this product to review last year and it worked great on stickers on our truck windows so I figured I’d give it a try on the dresser. A few sprays on the top of the stickers, let it set for a minute and then they all the stickers and glue residue wiped off and disappeared.

Look at Lia’s dresser now, it looks brand new now that the stickers have been removed! Another review product and I highly recommend Motsenbocker’s Lift Off Adhesive Remover .

Speaking of challenges and dressers, we never seem to have enough storage so I came up with the idea to add a “drawer” under Lia’s dresser for her jammies. I measured the width and length between the legs and started searching for a plastic storage container that might work. I would find one the right depth but it was too wide, another challenge I had to figure out.

After almost coming to a dead end with finding the right size storage container, my challenge was over! I had a crisper drawer from our old refrigerator that I had saved (I save everything that I think I may be able to use at a later date) and it was the perfect size to fit under Lia’s dresser! Not only did the crisper drawer fit perfect, but it would slide in and out very easily! The white trim matched the dresser and it gave more storage space! How’s that for another challenge accomplished?

I love a challenge whether it be something like the Ultimate Blog Challenge or my Swagbucks challenge or just a simple one like a sticker removal challenge or finding more storage space!

Removing the adhesive from old stickers is a horror. You have given me an easy solution. Can you help me with getting crayon paintings off my wall ?I don’t want to repaint right away but would like better walls.

Sorry I’m late at replying Amrita! For removing crayon, magic erasers work plus you can try rubbing a little toothpaste, baking soda or vinegar on the crayon but you might want to test it on a spot that doesn’t show. That’s one thing Lia never did however she did scratch her name on our stainless steel refrigerator door!

Now could you save the stickers and put them in a sticker book when using this product? Lia may want to go back and see her stickers one day! Just curious! just thinking of the future of my little pal!

I will have to keep that product in mind. We have some sticker lovers in this house, and I need a product that can move the residue!

The drawer under the dress is a great idea as well!

  5. Hi Martha and Lia! What a great challenge! I had a St. Patrick’s day sticker on my pleather jacket and wish I had that stuff to take it off. Great idea for reusing the fridge drawer, you are simply brilliant for keeping that! Sending lots of love.

  6. It’s good to have products that work. Glad they came off with ease.

  7. Martha, I burst out laughing in delight, when I saw your topic for today! Sticker removal is certainly one of the realities of life we get to deal with now and then! I have been using GooGone (orange oil basically) and a razor scraper for some stickers. But I may try to get your product to pursue removing some adhesive cord-holders my late husband installed. They are not coming off without a fight! 🙂

Great ideal for the crisper tray and I still want to get some of the sticker remover because I like to put things on the door and switch out between holidays and can’t use stickers because they leave reside but having this I wouldn’t ‘t have that problem and could decorate to my heart’s content.
