Step by Step Smoothie Recipe

For today’s blog post for the August Ultimate Blog Challenge I’m using the suggested topic from our host. A great way to teach someone is giving them a step by step guide. Since I was recently gifted a blender I’m sharing my step by step smoothie recipe.

These are the ingredients for my pineapple/banana smoothie. I start with canned chunked pineapple (can also use frozen), half a banana, crushed ice, heavy whipping cream, protein smoothie powder, almond flavoring (can use any flavor you prefer), coconut, whipped topping and sprinkles.

Start by adding 1/2 cup of pineapple and cut up banana in the blender, add 1/2 cup crushed ice.

Blend together until smooth then add 1/4 cup of heavy whipping cream plus 1 tablespoon of protein smoothie power and blend again.

After it’s all smooth, add 1/2 teaspoon of almond flavoring and 1 tablespoon of coconut. Blend until the coconut is mixed in with the other ingredients. This recipe makes a an 8 ounce smoothie and it’s delicious for breakfast or snack.

After I poured it in the glass I added whipped topping and sprinkled cake batter sprinkles on top! That’s all you need for a delicious smoothie!

I made a smoothie the other day with just pineapple and coconut with coconut flavoring and added a cherry on top of the whipped topping. You can add your favorite fruit or flavoring for a one of a kind smoothie.

As I mentioned in the beginning I was gifted a blender from our neighbor who wasn’t using it any more. It’s only a few years old and looks brand new. Since our older one speed blender had seen better days, this Oster 12 speed blender is perfect for all kinds of yummy recipes. I hope my step by step smoothie recipe got your taste buds going and if you give it a try, let me know if you substituted ingredients!

  1. Nice blender. I love smoothies and try new recipes all the time.

I love smoothies, so nutritious. I sometimes use avocado or cashews to get that really creamy consistency instead of the protein powder. The blender looks great, what a nice neighbor you have!

  3. Looks delicious! I always included pineapple juice in my strawberry and banana smoothies, so that’s a little bit similar to yours. But I have never tried pineapple, coconut and banana. I’d love to try a pina colada kind of flavor someday, though.

  4. Thanks for sharing. That is one tasty-looking smoothie!! I make them all the time but have never added whip cream or sprinkles. That makes it look very festive.

I love making my smoothies, I actually use a banana- frozen fruit, add my spinach to up my iron level. I tend to be anemic, thanks, Dad! I still love you though Dad! topping the smoothie with shredded coconut or Coconut whipped topping just makes the smoothie complete, doesn’t it? You can also fill molds and make popsicles from the smoothie or fill cups and make a NICE cream. Nice blender… gotta say I was looking to have you call it a Birthday cake Smoothie because with the whipped cream and sprinkles and I think a cherry- I thought of all the BIRTHDAY cake flavor treats – cookies, ice cream all they have out on the market!

Oh yes Pamela, gotta top with coconut and whipped topping. I like the idea of freezing the smoothie into popsicles but I never have any left over!
