Spiritual Sunday with Peace on Earth
One of the songs we sang at Mass this weekend was Let There Be Peace on Earth. With all the unrest going on, it would be wonderful if we could have a Spiritual Sunday with peace on Earth.

This is a beautiful piano instrumental with lyrics so you can sing along while JD Sebastian plays the piano.
Catholic Churches
This is St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Schenectady New York where Rich and I were married on July 29, 1967. The church was founded in 1901 and completed in 1921. In 2014 the church had major fire damage due to a malfunctioning furnace but it was mostly restored to it’s original look. When we went back to St. Anthony’s for our renewal of vows on our 50th wedding anniversary in 2017 we saw the new altar and the replicated stain-glass windows for the first time, it was just as beautiful as it was in 1967.
Last week while we were in Indiana I went to Mass at St. Mary’s Cathedral and I have never seen a more beautiful church both inside and out.
Our Lady Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church is our home church in North Myrtle Beach, SC (Photo credit of church: OLSSNMB website). Lia has always loved to look at the stained glass windows.
Blessing to all on this Sunday and may we all hope for Peace on Earth. On a good note, I managed to get through Mass with dry eyes, first time since I’ve been going on my own.
What a beautiful and touching post, Martha. Thank you for sharing these reflections on peace and your personal experiences with Church, mass, and the beauty of coming together in Spiritual community.
The song “Let There Be Peace on Earth” is indeed a powerful and timely message right now. I think we need it more than ever. I believe in our individual roles in fostering peace, starting with ourselves and extending outward, and I love how you do this, and share in it.
Sending you much love.
Thank you for this spiritual and personal reflection. It’s a wonderful reminder of the power of faith, community, and the eternal quest for peace. Blessings to you as well on this Spiritual Sunday.
Thank you for your beautiful comment Safrianna. Yes I too believe we need more peace on earth and we all need to do what we can to make that happen.
What a good blog.
Thanks Amanda.
The interior of St. Mary’s Cathedral is gorgeous indeed! Love the piano music, too. Awww, and Rich and sweet lil Lia! 🥰
It was a beautiful church both inside and out. I love reading about the history of older churches Tamara.
