Spiritual Sunday Love
Today for Spiritual Sunday Love I’m sharing the quote of the week from our church bulletin. Wednesday January 21st is the Feast Day of St. Agnes whom was known for her commitment to Christ and her vow of chastity.
“Christ made my soul beautiful with the jewels of grace and virtue. I belong to Him Whom the angels serve.”
This is also the last weekend our church sanctuary will be open until mid March. The original church was built in 1964, seating 400 people and in 1996 a new church with seating for 1500 people was started. The existing church (which is attached to the new one) was remodeled to make office space, meeting rooms, a banquet hall and also the addition of St. Trinity’s school classrooms.

Our church is getting a face lift with new flooring, pews and kneelers. Last night after Mass I took photos so I can have the before and after side by side so I can write an after blog on the new look in April. We don’t know any details but it will be exciting to see the transition since I have been going to this church since 1994.

Our church also has monthly fundraiser breakfasts on the 3rd Sunday and today my “church angels” and I had a delicious meal to start our day. I am so thankful they found me when I was lost back in October 2024, we are now family and I love my “kids.”

It’s been raining all night and into today but I still took a quick walk on the beach after breakfast. My mom passed away January 20, 2000 and my dad passed on January 15, 2006 I always write a love note to Rich and watch the waves carry it to heaven. Since today is between those two dates, the note was for my mom, dad and Rich. I know they are all watching down smiling as I was writing it in the rain.

Whatever the weather, we can always find something to be grateful and thankful for and today I am thankful for God, my family and friends who help me get through my days.

Sounds like you have a wonderful community around you, Martha.
Our community is more like family. If someone needs something, there is always someone ready to help out Kimberly.
I am glad you got these people and things to be grateful for.
PS: Living in tiny Switzerland, I can’t get over your church’s 1,500 seats – where does everybody park?
I have an entire village that has turned into my family Tamara! As for the parking, we have two large parking lots at the church and it’s also across from a large shopping center and all the stores graciously allow the church goes to park in their lots as overflow if needed. I’m excited to see the new changes.
