Song of the Day Challenge
The April Ultimate Blog Challenge hosted by Paul Taubman just finished, I completed a blog a day for 30 days! My next goal was to write a blog at least twice a week……that was before one of my blogger friends created a new May Challenge! Glenda Cates who writes The Mommies Review started “Song of the Day” Challenge. So I said why not give it a shot!
Day 1 – Song that has a color in it
This was an easy one for me! Our beautiful yellow rose started to bloom the other day and today it is in full bloom. This was a bush we ordered last year and when we received the bush it was just about dead. My hubby gave it tender loving care when we first got it last year and he managed to get a rose near the end of last season!
But this year it’s doing great! It’s gorgeous with six little buds on the same bush. Once we know it’s well on the way, we will transplant it in our new Reflection Garden.
So can you guess what my song is? It’s the Yellow Rose of Texas! This song is a traditional American folk song dating back to at least the 1850’s. Yellow Rose of Texas became popular among Confederate soldiers in the Texas Brigade during the American Civil War when they took command of the Army of Tennessee in July 1864. The song has nothing to do with a yellow rose but it’s the song that pops in my head everytime I see our yellow rose! Yes, when I see our yellow rose I start singing this song.
This is going to be a fun challenge! What would you come up with for a song that has a color in it? Thanks Glenda for coming up with it!
your roses are beautiful!!!
Thank you Nancy, they were perfect for Day 1 of the Song of the Day challenge.

Thanks Msrcia! Any now I’m doing a May challenge! I can do it, I can do it, I can do it, I think!
