Song of the Day 9
Song that makes me think of about my teen years
Oh this is Song of the Day 9 Challenge is bringing back so many wonderful memories! I’m so glad I joined in when Glenda who writes the Mommies Reviews blog came up with the idea.
Today’s suggested prompt is to think of a song that makes me think about my teen years. I met my hubby when I was 16 years old and a junior in high school. He had just returned from Vietnam after serving in the Army. My friend from school knew Rich’s family and suggested we met each other. So on Christmas Day 1965 we had our first date. I was young and thought we would go to the movies and that would be it. Little did I know when I met Rich that it was almost instant that we both knew we belonged together. It was like Ritchie Valens wrote the song We Belong Together just for us!

Rich was actually the one that got me hooked on the music of Ritchie Valens and all the others in his era. Ritchie was a self-taught singer and guitarist. Unfortunately his young life was cut short at 17 years old when he died in a plane crash minutes after takeoff after the concert at Clear Lake, Iowa on February 2, 1959.
It’s been almost 55 years since Rich and I first met and we belong together then and we belong together now. We have made so many memories with our two children, 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren with #8 on the way in November.
Aw, how sweet. You and Rich do belong together, that is for sure. You are truly blessed to have such an amazing and lovely family.
I love this challenge because it’s bringing back memories Brenda. I love our family and am truly blessed.
