Song of the Day 29
Song that I remember from my childhood

Once again I had another song in mind but while watching a Cardinal in mom’s garden, he was sending down a message from my mom. Out of nowhere I started singing Que Sera, Sera (Whatever Will Be, Will Be). This is a song my mom would sing to my when I was young! I haven’t even thought about it until the other day when the Cardinal visited. Thinking back to when my mom sang it, she had such a beautiful voice. I’m not even sure who sang it back then but I’m assuming it was Doris Day because mom loved her voice. But I only remember my mom singing it to me.
Que Sera, Sera Whatever Will Be, Will Be
When I was just a little girl
I asked my mother what will I be
Will I be pretty will I be rich
Here’s what she said to me
Que sera sera
Whatever will be will be
The future’s not ours to see
Que sera sera
What will be will be
When I grew up and fell in love
I asked my sweetheart what lies ahead
Will we have rainbows day after day
Here’s what my sweetheart said
Que sera sera
Whatever will be will be
The future’s not ours to see
Que sera sera
What will be will be
Now I have children of my own
They ask their mother what will I be
Will I be handsome will I be rich
I tell them tenderly
Que sera sera
Whatever will be will be
The future’s not ours to see
Que sera sera
What will be will be
Que sera sera
I feel like the Cardinal brought a message down from my mom for Song of the Day 29. Because I don’t think I would have thought about Qes Sera, Sera (Whatever Will Be, Will Be) a song that I remember from my childhood without a little help from above. Mom is just letting me know she is still watching over and guiding me along.
Wonderful fabulous story
I knew mom was close when all the cardinals hung around the yard Rich! I loved mom’s singing.
I loved listening to that song too. Haven’t you enjoyed the Song Challenge and being able to remember all of those moments that somehow get shuffled to the back places of our minds. Yet when a song is thought of, they all come rushing back in?
Love it…I think I have two more days to catch up on for the challenge. I’ll try to knock them out today…(I honestly think they were days I don’t have good memories at all from though – so I opted ‘not’ to write anything). do you ever feel like that Martha?
Have a wonderful day!!! I’m off to get ready for a doctor’s appointment.
This Song Challenge has been so much fun Nancy, bringing back so many memories. I can’t believe we’re near the end of the month already and I’ve signed up with Charlie’s Color Challenge! Yes, I’ve felt tht way many times, but I tried to find something good even though the memories weren’t good at times. Think positive Nancy, you can get them done and bring back happy times!
How sweet messages from Heaven. Thank-you for sharing your sweet memories, Martha.
I figured that’s what it had to be Brenda. This song just popped in my head while thinking of mom, she had to send it down with the Cardinals.
Great post.
This song brought back memories of my mom Amanda.
