Something To Talk About!
Here we are on day 20 of the Ultimate Blog Challenge, only 10 days to go! Today I’m using the suggested topic from the host of this great challenge and giving you something to talk about on my blog! The challenge today is to write about a few of my blogs that have received the most comments. This is easy for my to check since I have a tab that tracks my WordPress Popular Posts.
Last April I wrote a blog post warning my readers to watch out for scams on the internet. I had a hunch about a post on Facebook offering a free laptop in exchange for the participants having to give so much personal information including drivers license, address, and bank information. I wrote as a warning to be very cautious about anything like this, not actually saying it was a scam. Through some of my Facebook friends that fell for this and lost thousands of dollars, I then wrote an update on the same subject, adding the links to the original blog. This blog received 2,951 views and 45 comments. Some were comments thanking me for the warning while others were saying it’s on the up and up. After i posted the second and third blog on the subject, people were convinced it was a scam. http://themarthareview.com/dont-fall-for-free-laptop-offer/ The moral of this is if something is too good to be true, it usually is.
The second highest blog comments was one that I posted on Thursday Tree Love, capturing photographs of trees.. The tree that I photographed that week was a breathtaking and majestic live oak that is estimated to be 400 – 500 years old. This tree is a few hours from our home and the drive was well worth it. I received 32 comments on my post about the Angel Tree. http://themarthareview.com/thursday-tree-love-week-17/ If you missed this post last July, you will want to check it out now!
I had a tie on comments on my next two blogs, both receiving 28 comments. One blog was about teaching children about people with disabilities and I wrote it last April. I have a super fantastic, multi-talented Facebook friend with multiple disabilities and it’s hard enough to deal with this without having people stare and say rude remarks. She shared some very helpful information for parents, teachers and day care workers. http://themarthareview.com/teaching-children-about-people-with-disabilities/ If you know anyone that may benefit from this blog, please share this info with them.
The other blog that was tied with 28 comments was one written by my granddaughter, who writes under the “Alex Articles” category of my blog. She went into detail about the differences of being Introverted or Extroverted. Alex wrote this blog last July and you may find it very interesting. http://themarthareview.com/introverted-or-extroverted/ She also discussed ambivert, something I had never heard of!
While I don’t always receive many comments, I do get many views and shares. I want to thank all my readers that view, share and comment on them. How are you doing on the challenge so far? Only ten days left to complete!

Wow, that’s good that you warned people about that scam! My mom once called the news to tell them about people who had called and attempted to scam her and they actually came over to interview her.
Glad your mom realized it was a scam and warned others Jeanine! There are way to many going around and unfortunately too many fall for them.
What interesting blog posts! You’re doing a great job in warning people about scams and in telling people about the lives of people with disabilities. As for me, I’m doing OK with the challenge. I am a day behind but I should be able to catch up on Sunday with the A to Z challenge.
Thanks Alice, I should have a “public service announcement” category! I love trying to get the word out about scams, bullying and things that may cause harm to others. You’re doing great, a day behind will be easy to catch up! Thanks for stopping by.
