Silly Saturday Busted
Okay my Stilly Saturday Busted is not what you may think! I don’t even drink beer or liquor but this is my story and I’m sticking to it.
For the past week I’m been working non stop in the garage after last Saturday’s garage sale. I have made numerous trips daily to the recycling center and donation drop offs. I’m so proud of all the process I’ve made, I’ll be posting a garage makeover soon!
But back to the beer…. Rich and I followed Nascar races in our younger years and when the Busch Clash came around in 1994, yes you read that right THESE CANS WERE DATED 1994, we bought the souvenir cans. Neither of us drank beer but it’s a thing that fans did, I even have cereal boxes in the bedroom closet from Dale Earnhardt racing!
So I’m moving things around in the garage since I had extra space and when I got to a corner of the cabinets I smelled something like fermented apple cider. I pulled a plastic bin out and when I removed the cover I nearly got drunk from the smell. Not really but I’m being silly. LOL

Many of the cans had popped their tops and some of them had holes in the side of the cans like the beer ate through the can. The bottom of the storage container was about 3″ deep of fermented beer! I pulled it out on the driveway and grabbed the hose to wash the cans off and try to get rid of the smell, I didn’t want the neighbors thinking I was having a wild beer party.
After cleaning the bucket with Simple Green cleaner it was good as new. I put all the cans in a heavy paper bag and planned to take it to the recycling center without being noticed by anyone who knew me. Well so much for that, my neighbor and his mom stopped over as I’m cleaning up the mess and that was fun trying to explain what I was doing with all the empty beer cans. But in the end he asked if I would like him to them to recycle. I thanked him and said yes please do that! So the beer cans are gone, the smell of fermented beer now smells like fresh pine cleaner and no one is on to my busted beer cans.
So that’s my Silly Saturday Busted story and I sticking to it! I’m so glad my friend Kebba came up with the idea of Silly Saturday, we all need a few laugh about something silly! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
