Sharing My Hearts

When my granddaughter, Alexandra tagged me in a Facebook group, the wheels started turning. The Facebook Group is Heart Hunters and this is their mission. “Trying to spread a little love and compassion in this time of social distancing. They wanted to promote social distancing while doing an activity with their children during a time when we must be so careful. It has grown into much, much more. Post hearts in your windows, on your doors, wherever you want. They can be made from anything (paper, wrapping paper, cereal boxes)-be creative. Not an artist? That’s ok. Many of us aren’t. Help to spread the love and feel a little more connected in these uncertain times. Make sure you share your pictures. Some can’t get out so these little hearts (or eggs or bears or whatever) are very comforting.” It didn’t take long for Lia to grab her chalk and head out to the driveway and she said, “I’m sharing my hearts with you.”

Hi friends, for my Friday Story Time by Lia, I’m sharing my hearts for all to see! Since my mommy found this terrific site to share hearts, I want to share a picture of mommy and me, I love her so much!

Now don’t laugh at how I’m dressed but GGmama had me put some old pants on that are way too short and I wore my bunny slippers so it didn’t matter if I got covered with chalk. Did you see the heart on my shirt? Okay let’s get these hearts beating!

Here I am coloring in the big hearts that GGmama helped me draw on the driveway. It was so much fun making hearts to bring smiles to others.

Look at all our beautiful chalk hearts! We even made a big sun to bring even more sunshine to everyone driving by. Good thing I wore my old pants and slippers, they are both covered with chalk now.

If you go by my GGpapa and mama’s house, look at all the hearts I drew in the driveway to share with everyone! Since I can’t visit my friends in person I’m sharing my hearts with them.

I’m going to stand here a bit and see if anyone drives by. Here comes a neighbor driving by now! I love to wave to everyone when they walk or drive by! Some even beep their horn as they wave back! Will you share some hearts in your driveway, windows or doors? We can all show love to everyone while we can’t visit with them.

If you want to see more of my hearts, check out my blog I wrote about the picture I painted for mommy and daddy’s Valentine’s Day card. I always love sharing hearts and smiles! http://themarthareview.com/my-valentine-craft-project/

  1. Ok, As you know I am a dog companion NOT a child companion, BUT WOW, your grandaughter blew me away! I took Alice’s blog and ran with my own blog from hers- tomorrow I may just have to link up to your blog and give your granddaughter some hearts!! I am also not that much of an emotional crier but I am getting HAPPY tears in my eyes thinking and seeing your wonderful story! Is it okay if I include a link to your story as I continue the hearts in my own way?!?!?
