Shadow Forever
SHADOW FOREVER
Crying for Papa in the middle of the night,
Mommy brought you over and he held you so tight.
You wanted to go for a ride in the wagon,
Papa jumped to get it, there was no laggin’.
Out on the beach, you walked hand in hand, Watching the birds, with toes in the sand.
With Papa at your side, There was no reason for cries.
You and papa, always together,
Just like a little shadow forever.
When it’s time for your beautiful wedding day,
Pop will walk you down the aisle, but he can’t give you away.
A poem I wrote about our granddaughter and her “papa”. Alexandra starting working with us at our store when she was about 6 weeks old and continued working until she “retired” at 5 years old to start Kindergarten. Even then papa would pick her up from school, get her a milk shake and bring her back to work. She has always been a sweet, lovable hard worker.
Very nice
Thanks Francine, Every now and then I come up with little poems.
In our thoughts, such a sweet photo essay!
Thanks Savvy Age, can you tell she is very special to us? Thanks for thoughts also.
Wow
A very special granddaughter and “papa”.
That’s my girl.
Thanks for stopping by and seeing “your girl” from days long ago. Grown up but still as sweet. <3
PLEASE tell me Danny is the one in the wagon in that pic or something lmao. otherwise, great poem! 😁
Weeelll, I could tell you it’s Danny, but we both know better Alexandra. ROTFL That’s when pop would take up down the long driveway and fill the ruts. LOL
