Santa Handprint Ornaments
It’s time for another Friday Story by Lia the Baby Blogger! Lia and I enjoy doing projects together and this story is about some Santa Handprint Ornaments I helped Lia make for Christmas presents. Here is Lia’s story…
GG mama and I were coming up with ideas for making ornaments for my mommy, daddy and my gramma and grampa. We decided to make handprints and turn them in Santa’s face!
First I put on my craft tee-shirt then got the paint and paper ready. I was set to start my project!
After pouring some paint on a paper plate, my GG papa helped stick my hand in the paint. It made my fingers feel so funny! Next I popped my hand on the green paper and when I lifted it up, my handprint was there!
I practiced painting on some of my handprints and when I finished this one, I turned it into a picture for mommy!
After the white paint dried, GG mama helped me paint the red hat. This was made with my thumb for the end of the hat and a little piece of cotton glued on the end for the tassel! I even helped glue on the furry hat band and the wiggley eyes. We gave the face a smiley face and my Santa handprint ornaments were finished!
I made one ornament in a frame from mommy and daddy and other with a gold tie for my gramma and grampa. Then I even made another one for my GG mama and GG papa too!
I was so excited to give mommy and daddy their present. I opened the little box and they saw the ornment glued on the inside of the top. It was so much fun making this and mommy and daddy loved it.
When I gave gramma and grampa their ornament they were so happy and gramma gave me the biggest hug! The ornaments have my name and date on them when I get older I can remember how old I was when I made them.
Of course GG mama and GG papa put their ornament on the tree right away! Mama said she’s saving an ornament each year and when I’m 18 she will give them to me for my own tree! How cool is that to have ornaments that I made when I was little to hang on my own Christmas tree when I get all grown up!
Wonderful diy for the holiday season
