Reusable Produce Bags

I came across some awesome reusable produce bags that keep our lettuce super crispy for days. We are having a great crop of leaf lettuce from our backyard garden and I have been picking enough for a salad every day. When my great granddaughter is visiting, she even helps me! With the hot southern weather, it’s been growing like crazy so I picked a bunch extra so it would continue to grow more.

After I pick the lettuce, I wash the leaves, let it partially dry and put in the drawstring produce bag. I was amazed at how crispy it was when I opened the bag the following day. On the third day it was still as fresh and crispy as the first day.

This is a picture of the lettuce I picked 2 1/2 days ago. Still as fresh and crispy as day one.

There are ten bags in the package with three different sizes. The bags are BPA, Lead, and Mercury Free, and made in a facility free from harmful manufacturing chemicals with the highest standards of quality. I like that they are washable and dry quickly plus if I store a variety of vegetables at one time, I can see what is in each bag.

These bags can be used for a variety of things besides produce but my favorite is using them to keep our lettuce fresh and crisp!

I also use reusable produce bags for draining the water out of canned tuna. If I use a strainer, half the tuna goes through the holes, same as if I pour the water out by covering the can with the lid. When I put the tuna in one of these bags and squeeze the water out, I don’t have to worry about losing any through strainer holes.

Well looking at the garden, I better go pick some more lettuce, hubby loves a salad a day!

  1. Those look like something I need to start using. My fridge is stocked with veggies and this may be the storage item I was seeking. Thanks.
