Reorganizing In Progress
Reorganizing In Progress
I have been stacking up boxes and boxes of my completed product review items in our upstairs TV room. Well it has become overrun and way overdue to organize. It was a cold and windy day, so after work was a good day to start. I started out with two regular card board boxes that I cut the flaps off.
Next I cut a narrow piece of cardboard to insert it on the inside bottom of the boxes to make the bottom even. I spray glued the flaps and insert down and then spray painted the boxes.
I could have purchased storage bins but I always like to find something that I can re-purpose, both to save money and the landfill.
After the paint dried, I cut a piece of left over wallpaper the size of the box and glued that to the inside bottom. Now I have two decorated boxes for some of the small items which I wanted to start with.
I had so many bottles of essential oils scattered through out the boxes so that was my first plan of attack. I rummaged through the big boxes and found all the little oil bottles and they fit perfectly in one of my re-purposed boxes. Some of the oils come with droppers and I had to figure out where to store them so they would be easily accessible when needed. My problem was solved when I took an empty prescription bottle and put all the droppers in that. (See I save everything!)
The next thing I wanted to find a place for was all the bottles of creams, lotions and facial products I had reviewed. The larger box I made was perfect for all of these products.
When I prepared the boxes for reorganizing, I didn’t plan the size, I just used two that were only a few inches high. Was I surprised at how perfect they fit on the shelf in my bathroom closet, like I planned it! I love it when a plan comes together. Organizing these products into the two re-purposed boxes is a start and I plan to to a few boxes a day when I get home from work. Hopefully the room will be all organized and we’ll be able to walk through it in a few weeks! Do you like to save things and re-purpose them? What are some of the things you re-purpose?
I love to see others re purposing items for storage. I really need to do the same myself. Thanks for sharing this with us. Great idea 🙂
Something in me says don’t throw anything away, it may be useful somewhere. It’s a challenge for me to come up with an idea to make something from something else. Let me know if you come up with cool re-purposing ideas! Thanks for stopping by Jennifer.
I need to do something like this. I hate throwing things out and like using them somewhere else.
I love to use something that otherwise would be trash, into something useful. Thanks for visiting Beth.
I like to re purpose things for use as well. I like how much room those containers save.
That’s what I like about them too Sandy. I can organize so much in one container. Thanks for visiting.
That looks like it’s almost a full-time job! We also like to find new uses for old things – come to think of it, we’ve both been married before! 🙂
Once I got it organized, it’s much easier to keep it that way Bill. Finding new uses for old things can be fun and challenging. The one thing I’ve never re-purposed is my hubby, we’ve been together 51 years and counting 🙂 Thanks for visiting!
Yes I do! If I can make it pretty and use it for a long time I do it.
The coffee containers are great because the match my bathroom decor or red and blue! Plus they do last a long time. Thanks for stopping by Andria.
