Quick Easy and Delicious Dinner
After two weeks of having mostly microwaved dinners or McDonald’s, I’m back in our new kitchen and the other day I made a quick, easy and delicious dinner. I love these kind of meals that I can put together for less than $5.00 for two people.
I started checking out the freezer and found this top round steak which I paid $3.35. Yes, I’m last of the big spenders and always looking for a bargain.
I started by cutting the steaks in thin slices while I was sautéing an onion in avocado oil. I added the steak, sprinkled with a bit of Worchester sauce in the frying pan.
Steak like this doesn’t take look to cook so before I started the steak I prepared a package of fettucine noodles with broccoli and parmesan cheese. I also had carrots with brown sugar glaze. Since hubby isn’t big on cheesy noodles, he had a baked potato. The steak only took about 5 minutes to stir fry!
In about 15 minutes from start to finish, this is my quick, easy and delicious dinner!
Even Lia loved it! She had three helpings of the noodles with broccoli and cheese.
If you want a few more quick meal ideas, here are some 30 Minute Meals I blogged about earlier.
I love coming up with meals like this. There are times when I’m not sure what I’m planning for dinner until almost the last minute. With a meal like this I can take a package of thin steak from the freezer, cut and cook it up without thawing it out. Hope you enjoyed the quick, easy and delicious dinner.
Looks delicious. Thank you for posting this.
Hope you try some Cheryl, I love sharing quick and easy meals.
Nice and easy! I am not a red meat eater, but I can certainly make this with Chicken! Love simple easy one-skillet meals make clean up much easier too.
I love this chicken meal Paul and yes the one-skillet meals are super for clean up!
This looks so good and I like buying this Steak and Pan Frying it with Onions and Brown Gravy for myself. David and Charlie will not eat it with Onions. I just Smother David’s piece in Gravy and make Mashed Potatoes for him. Charlie’s I grill on the George Forman and he shares David’s Mashed Potatoes and for less than $5 we all have dinner.
Whatever way you prepare it to their liking Glenda, under $5.00 makes a super meal.
Thank you for a great post
Thanks for visiting Wy, I love sharing my delicious meals.
Martha, oh yum! Thanks for the ideas! I usually need to be fast, really fast, and I just don’t want to microwave frozen meals. Plus, the ones I like are now up to almost $6 for each of us!!! I notice we feel better when we eat KebbaFood, too. Your meals look great!
It’s shocking how much a frozen meal costs and then when you open it, the inside looks nothing like the package! Yes, we feel much better, more filling and costs less to make a meal. I like to always have small portions of meat, chicken, fish frozen, I can cook them up right from the freezer if it’s a last minute meal! I’ll be sharing more Kebba!
I like quick and easy meals. My dad used to be a chef and my mum is a pretty good cook, so I grew up eating food cooked from scratch most of the time. I have moments when I reach for a frozen meal or order in, but I enjoy cooking healthy means, especially if I can whip it quickly.
That’s me too Dee! I can make a meal for two from scratch cheaper than frozen dinners or takeout!
