Puppy Pad Masterpiece
I love thinking outside the box and that’s just what I did yesterday when Lia was ready to color her Easter Eggs. I usually put plastic or newspaper on her table when she’s painting or doing crafts but I came up with a cool idea. I put a puppy pad on her table so she could make her puppy pad masterpiece eggs!
The first thing Lia did was organize her supplies on her table. The puppy pad was the perfect size to protect the table top.
I picked up this kit at Walmart and it has a dozen eggs that look and feel like real ones! It came with plastic bags and liquid dye. Lia dropped her egg in the plastic bag then sprinkled a few drops of dye in it and mixed them together, using multi colors.
Again, Lia thinking outside the box decided to just swirl the dye on the egg instead of using the bag. She calls this one her sunshine egg!
We never know what Lia will say but this was too cute. She’s decorating her egg and said she’s adding detail. She’s saying, detail, detail after every drop of dye.
Lia and her mommy had so much fun coloring the eggs and all the dye the dripped off landed on the puppy pad and soaked in without making a mess!
After the egg dying was done, I started to fold up the puppy pad to throw it away but then I had a brainstorm. There was extra dye so I came up with the idea of Lia squirting it out to make her first puppy pad masterpiece!
Ta-da!!! This is Lia puppy pad masterpiece! It was fun coloring the eggs and she had even more fun “squeeze painting” the puppy pad!
Have you ever come up with an off the wall, outside the box idea to use something other than what it was intended for? I love thinking outside the box! This is a blog I wrote back in 2019 where I shared some of my “outside the box” ideas for cardboard box projects! This is when I started out with an old cardboard box and turn it into a utenstil holder! My brain is always thinking. LOL
Martha, I had so much fun reading this blog. This is so creative!! I also love that you used a kit of play eggs instead of real ones. It’s beautiful see how Lia trusts her instincts and how she inspires you. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Kimberly! Lia and I are like two eggs in a basket, we both inspire each other!
Martha, brilliant! Now, I did not know Walmart had these kits with egg-looking faux eggs! How beautifully they came out! And you get to keep them. The puppy pad idea was sheer genius. And there’s probably some further use for it, now that it is covered with beautiful colors. Success!!!!
Lia had such a fun time coloring her eggs Kebba. Since Sunday she has been having egg hunts inside with her eggs. You know I love thinking outside the box and when I came up with the idea to use the puppy pad as a table cover, the masterpiece was a second thought after seeing the splatters of dye on it!
Can easily see Lia had so much fun.. and that DIY is truly a masterpiece..
Lia loves being creative Vidya! But who would have thought of using a puppy pad for painting! LOL
Looks like Lia had a lot of fun coloring her eggs. The puppy pad came out artistly well.
She had a lot of fun and her puppy pad painting was a cool idea Amanda!
