Product Reviewer for Different Companies
Product Reviewer For Different Companies
For the past few years I have been a product reviewer for different companies. Like any other job, you have to work your way up the chain. When I first started I would review small items and it slowly grew into large and some very nice items that I have used for gifts.
When you do product reviews, you are not allowed to sell the items since the product is given to you to review. There may be a small percentage of the item but at must it’s usually between a penny up to a dollar. After I receive the product, I have to try it out and then write a review and post it on the site where the product came from. The reviews have to be your honest opinion and give pros and cons if there are any. Since many of the items are from new sellers who are trying to get their products on the market, if you can’t give it a 4 or 5 star review, you must contact the seller first and give them your reason. Most of the time, the sellers will listen to your opinions and suggestions and make changes to the product. If they don’t reply after giving them a chance, then you can give it a lower rating. One other thing when doing product reviews, you must leave a disclaimer stating the product was either free or at a reduced price in exchange for your honest review.
THE MARTHA REVIEW – Product and Book Reviews
After I started my blog in December 2014, I started posting some of my reviews in my blog as well as on the product site. I share my blog on my social sites and hope my reviews help the prospective buyers learn more about the item. It also helps the seller promote their product. If you click on the above link, it will take you to my Product and Book Reviews category on my blog and you can see some of the awesome products I have received.

When I first started reviewing, I would opt in for just about anything that was available, whether it be essential oils or cell phone cases. I would review everything that came my way but since I’ve been blogging, I have had sellers find me through my blog and contact me asking if I would like to review their product. There are also a variety of websites I’m on where I can opt in for different items to review. Some of the great items I have reviewed are a set of frying pans, a super oscillating fan and an induction burner.

I LOVE this Induction Burner!!
The one thing many people think is that it’s a quick and easy way to get free products. Reviewing is much more than just “free products”. You have to agree to try the product and write a detailed review with photos and or video. My reviews are at least 300 words long and I always add a variety of photos showing the item in use. It takes time to try a product and write a review that portrays the use of the product plus how well it holds up, who well it’s made and how well it works. Yes the products are free or almost free, but if you consider the time spent on a well written review, you have to realize that your time is worth something to write the review. So you can consider the time spent on writing a review is in exchange for the free product and when you give it as a gift, you have to actually figure your time spent for writing the review is worth the price of the product.
You are a product reviewer? If so, what has been your favorite item to review so far?
I would love to try this but I have only written reviews on items I have bought myself. Seems like a nice trade.
Andria, as long as you have written reviews on products, you can get in to product reviewing. Most of the products are from Amazon. It takes time, but it’s worth it for the products I get. Thanks for stopping by.
