Post a Picture
We are more than half way through the February Ultimate Blog Challenge already! Today’s suggested topic is to post a picture and see if it can go viral. Sometimes a simple picture post gets the most shares, likes and comments.
Last fall Rich, Alexandra, Lia and I went hiking in North Carolina. We visited some beautiful waterfalls and hiked through some beautiful wooded scenery.
While hiking in one part of the mountains I saw this simple painted rock nestled in the leaves with a simple message. I knew I had to take snap it and post a picture.
“When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the ROCK that is higher than I.” PSALM 61:2
It’s just a simple photo with a simple message we may all be able to relate with at times. What does this Psalm mean to you? Can you help me make this beautiful photo go viral by sharing my picture?
It strikes me that this idea, of making a photo go viral, might be the reason for that content prompt in the Cornerstone Content Blog Challenge, that suggests that you only have an image. My guess is that it is more likely to be shared that way. Hmm. Maybe I will consider an image-only post for March. Anyhoo, I love that Psalm. And its meaning. But you know the part of it I actually love most? “For you have been my refuge.”
That’s a good idea about the Cornerstone Challenge Jeanine. When I saw this rock, it made me just look at it and reflect. Yes, he has been our refuge.
The image you are looking to go viral reminds me I am never alone. Especially when I am under a lot of stress, I tend to forget this. Thanks for the lush imagery. I’m off to share now!
Julie, what a great thought this reminds you of, indeed we are never alone even if we can’t see anyone else, we know he is watching us. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Martha,
I remember the pictures you posted of that wonderful trip.
You and Lia are a couple of busy people here in the “blogosphere”
Thanks for all of the great heartwarming stories you two are sending out to help us find a smile each day.
Blog on!
Well there is a method to my madness of my blog posts with Lia. I plan to print them out (which I’ve already begun the process) and turn them over to Lia when she’s older. Hopefully the memories we share now will bring smiles to Lia when she’s a teenager or older. Lia and I are glad it helps so many people find a smile Doug!
Love all your photos, Martha but I especially love this one with the rock.
Thanks Lily, I loved this rock as soon as I spotted it.
Yes I can definitely help share this beautiful message.
I thought it was a perfect photo to share Amrita!
Great post.
Thanks Amanda, I knew I had to take a picture of this rock when I saw it.
