I recieved a coupon for a plant-based milk alternative and I must say I was a bit hesitant at first to try it. But my hesitation was short lived after I tried NOT MILK!

I have never tried a plant based milk alternative so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised at the great taste of NOT MILK! It’s thick and creamy with a unique taste with a hint of pineapple!

I was trying to figure out what I was tasting, it has pineapple juice and sunflower oil. So my granddaughter Alexandra and I decided it’s sort of a fruity/almond taste because of the sunflower. Either way I love it!

For starters I had a glass of NotMilk Whole with a few cookies. One word.. delicious! This plant-based milk alternative is healthy, has less calories, low on sugar and no cholesterol. It’s non GMO, gluten, soy and lactose free. I am so impressed with the ingredients used and the taste of the made from plants milk alternative.

NOT MILK Strawberry Smoothie

Of course I had to try a smoothie using NOT MILK also! I used 8 fresh/frozen strawberries and chopped them in the blender. Then I added 1/2 cup of NOT MILK plus a handful of organic coconut.

I blended all the ingredients together and poured my smoothie in a glass.

I was ready to try my smoothie when Alexandra came up with a topping of white chocolate chips and strawberry bits! She sprinkled them on top of my NOT MILK strawberry smoothie! The smoothie was creamy and so yummy.

NOT MILK plant-based milk alternative was very good and so was my smoothie! Lia and I plan to use this in a few other recipes that call for milk and we’ll share with our neighbors and get their approval of her baked goods with NOT MILK.

hmmmm….i’ll have to look for this. I tried unsweetened vanilla almond milk. I am not a fan. but i need milk for my cereal in the morning. Thanks for the review!

    • Martha says:

I was quite impressesd with this Terry. While it has a different taste than whole milk it wasn’t “yucky” or tasteless like the almond or coconut milks. Hope you like it!

  2. Good suggestions, Martha! I use almond milk but haven’t heard of Not Milk. I’ll have to check it out. Thanks!

  3. Thanks for sharing this alternative to milk. I stopped using cow’s milk many years ago because I became lactose intolerant. Instead, I make my own almond or other nut “milk” in my Vitamix blender. That way, I stay away from all the additives and know exactly what is it in. I use water, almonds, pure vanilla extract, sweetener (honey or maple syrup) and a pinch of salt to bring out the flavor. It’s delicious!

That sounds so good Florence! Lia will be home Sunday from a week with her grandparents and I’m sure she will come up with ideas to use NOT MILK for.

  4. Tamara says:

Wow, sounds great! People require non-dairy products for various reasons.
    The smoothies looks delicious!
What about the price? Oftentimes vegan alternatives are substantially more expensive.

  5. I have not yet heard about this one — we have been using Silk Almond milk for years. Not sure if I would like the hint of pineapple, but for a smoothie I bet it’s great!

    • Martha says:

I’m not sure if it’s a hit of pineapple or I was thinking that because I read the ingredients. My granddaughter tasted a more nutty flavor like the almond. Thanks for stopping by Angie.

  6. Brenda Marie Fluharty says:

It sounds like it would be great for making smoothies. I may have to try it. In the summer my diet is mostly smoothies.

  7. Now, I am not trying to burst your bubble, but it you look carefully at the label it is marked OUD (actually the U is in a circle). [This is found right below the gluten free notice on the side of the carton.] It could mean the product is produced on dairy equipment- or that there is a finite amount of dairy in the product.

    • Martha says:

Well that’s good to know Roy. I don’t have any of the dietary needs but it was a product I received to try. I’ll have to look into that more. Thanks!

  8. Mia Bella says:

I’ve been seeing commercials for the plant-based eggs but I didn’t realize they had milk too. I’m lactose intolerant so i will have to give it a try. Thanks for the info!

  9. Martha says:

This is my first time trying plant based foods and the smoothie was delicious Kebba! Let me know how you like it if you find some.

  10. This is a great post. My former doctor and therapist thought that I had a milk allergy. I will look into trying one of these.
