Photo Tour of the Beach
Today’s Ultimate Blog Challenge for Day 9 is right up my alley, or maybe I should say shore! The topic is to share a photograph of your hometown, wildlife, or scenery around you as a few suggestions. Since we live near the ocean I decided to share a photo tour of the beach at different times. I have used my Google Pixel 2 XL phone for all the photos and no editing was done.
Our tour starts today by capturing a beautiful sunrise over the ocean.
Hubby and I went to the beach about 5:30 am and waited for the sun to peek over the horizon and continue to rise against the beautiful red sky.
It’s a cloudy day but let’s take a walk down one of the many beach access walkways. They give an inviting look to the ocean.
When a hurricane is close, the waves get a bit angry. The birds are getting ready to fly away from the hurricane that is on the way.
But after the storm they all return to dip their toes in the water.
Once the hurricane has passed, the waves paint beautiful pictures in the sand. These remind me of sand etchings of feathers. I think they are absolutely gorgeous.
We have many piers along the beach from Cherry Grove to Surfside Beach in South Carolina. The first picture was taken as the tide was going out and it reminds me of a window to the ocean at the end of the pier.
Just a few more photos of the peaceful Atlantic ocean along the South Carolina coastline.
I hope you enjoyed touring the beach with the us! Now I hope you can take some time to stop and smell my hubby’s beautiful roses!
As a bonus I’m sharing a blog I wrote two years ago sharing some sewing machine photos at our shop. I didn’t realize until I completed the blog, that we have 9 machines and it’s day 9 of the challenge! http://themarthareview.com/sewing-machine-photos/
Loved the beach photos- especially when there was a hurricane. That’s the only time I can stomach the water’s edge in South Carolina. (To me beaches mean sand, salty water, and WAVES!)
That’s about the only time we go to the beach and walk on it Roy. We see it more when I snap a picture when we are redecorating a condo. LOL
I love heading to the beach at sunrise or sunset! I need to go… soon!
Thanks for sharing!
Would you believe we’ve lived here full time since 1994 and have only gone twice for sunrise photos? We really need to go more often and observe God’s beauty. Thanks for going on my beach tour Paul.
Beautiful photos. I love the ocean too. Really missing my Southern California beaches now that I live in Arizona. The ocean, for me, was a place of refuge – my sanctuary. It was my place for motivation, inspiration, and meditation. Ahhhh—- I really miss it.
It is a beautiful place but unfortunately we don’t go often. Really need to change that. Glad you enjoyed your beach tour Eydie.
I would love to live near the ocean. Such beautiful photos. And is that Singer still sewing?
Thanks Lily! Yes, the Singer is from 1950 era and that’s our main machine! It’s a workhorse for sure!
Oh what beautiful photos of the beach. I absolutely love sunrises! So you’re a South Carolinian? I’m in NC and I have the best of both worlds…mountains to the west and beaches to the east. Oh and I do recall seeing that pic of the young lady sitting behind the sewing machine in an earlier blog post. Must have been two years ago! Wow!
We’re actually from way upstate New York, around the Adirondack mountains Aletha. Move to SC in 1994 to help take care of my mom. Our get-away is in Cherokee, love the Great Smoky and Nantahala National Forests! We’ve had our sewing business since 1965 and my now 23 year old granddaughter has been “working” with us since she was 6 weeks old! It was probably an old picture of her. Now her daughter Lia is filling her shoes. Thanks for taking a beach tour with me neighbor!
We love going to the beach for vacation. We haven’t been able to afford it the past two years, and I am desperate for some time by the ocean. Thank you for sharing your pictures.
Hope the pictures gave you a little bit of beach loving Carrie! If you ever get to our beach, look me up!
