Peaceful Sunday
I’m calling today Peaceful Sunday because when you listen to the video you’ll know why.
When my daughter from Virginia comes down to visit, she always brings surprises. But it’s not something she hands to me, she puts them where I have to notice them. Now I’m not all that observant at times but the next morning Chris and I were out in the backyard watching the birds when I heard my wind chime quietly making music. But then I wondered why the old more of a high pitched sound was so mellow. I asked Chris if she heard it and she started to laugh. There almost right in front of me was the most gorgeous almost church bell sounding wind chime that Chris surprised me with!
Every morning I sit outside and watch the birds while listening to the gentle breeze start the chimes with the most beautiful, peaceful sound. This is my quiet place I’ve been working on in my backyard and the wind chime is a perfect addition to it.
I’m visiting my grandson in Lafayette Indiana and went to the most beautiful church for Mass this morning. St.Mary’s Cathedral was less than 1/2 mile so I decided to walk. I did lose my direction on the way back so ended up going in circles for a bit and the walk back turned into a mile. But it was a wonderful way to start my day and enjoy a walk.
I hope you enjoy hearing the chimes and have a peaceful Sunday.
I love the sound of wind chimes. It fills me with peace.
As it does for me too Kate. They are so soothing and peaceful.
What a lovely surprise Chris got you! I love wind chimes. So peaceful indeed, especially along with the birds chirping!
Chris is always full of surprises but this was tops on the list Tamara!
LOVE the windchimes! They’re so reminiscent of church bells. The church bells over the Veteran’s Cemetery in Madison Indiana I could listen to ALL day long. It’s peaceful there and I’m surrounded by silent heroes. I’ve been to that church and it’s lovely! Great post!
That’s why I love them so much Laura, the sound of church bells are so beautiful. I didn’t realize you lived in Indiana! One of my tripsI make by myself, I’ll have to look you up!
Martha, what a gorgeous church/cathedral! I have never before seen one with the ceiling coffers painted in blues. Wow!! And the sound of your new wind chimes is very mellow, touching on the peace within. What a beautiful Sunday.
I was amazed at the beautiful blue also Kebba. I didn’t get pictures of the stained glass windows but they too were breathtaking. I need to go back before we leave because I entered through the Bishops Memorial Hall and want to take a picture of the front of the church. Have a beautiful week filled with love.
What a fantastic surprise from your daughter! I love that relaxing, mellow sound. Thank you for sharing with us!
These chimes are what get me through some days Kristine. When I feel the world closing in on me I go outside and can hear the chimes even when there is only a slight breeze. My daughter knows me too well and she always there for me.
