Paper Plate Craft Projects

While Ma was trying to come up with what to write her blog on, I decided to jump in and show you a few paper plate craft projects I’ve recently made even though it’s not Friday Story Time by Lia. Maybe Ma will have her ideas by tomorrow!

Kaleidoscope

This is a fun project I found on YouTube. When Ma saw it finished she said it looked like a Kaleidoscope. I started by putting M&M’s all around the edge of the paper plate. Then I carefully poured water in the center until it covered all the M&M’s. As the coating melted off, the colors all mixed together making a cool design. Then I dropped one M&M in the center and watched the chocolate coating disappear. I like finding fun projects to make.

Worm

Last Thursday evening my school had a fun night with three stations. The first was creating a worm from a paper plate. I started by cutting the edge of the plate off from the center. Then I colored it different colors of green. I cut a yellow circle out and glued on the eyes and made a smile. Then I took a pipe cleaner to make the worm’s antennas. Mommy made one from the inside of the plate and she even made a turtle. Ma had fun watching us and taking pictures.

The next one was a reading station where a teacher read us a story and the third station was playing Bingo. I won Bingo twice and got to pick out two books! It was a fun night at school and I love the books I got.

Hopefully Ma will be ready for her own blog tomorrow, if not I have lots more ideas to share!

Ma’s two cents: I didn’t realize today was Earth Day when Lia decided her topic last night. How cool that she has a worm to celebrate Earth Day!
