Outsmarted the Squirrel on Silly Saturday

This is my short, short story about how I outsmarted the squirrel on Silly Saturday.

I love watching the birds and since I rearranged the front room I can now see the birds frolicking around the front yard and making a stop to my bird feeder. I put another suction cup window bird feeder up like what I have on my rear slider. The birds love them and I keep my little camera focused on the feeder and it takes pictures automatically when there is action on the feeder.

Well I no sooner filled the feeder and the birds stopped by. But then I heard this strange noise that wasn’t a bird. It was a squirrel who was climbing up the window screen to get to the bird seed!

This is not good because they clean out the feeder in no time plus they would probably rip the screen with their little toe nails.

So I kept banging on the window as they started to climb up and then they would jump to the window ledge and look at me. I needed to come up with a permanent plan.

It didn’t take me long to decide to take the window screen off! Now that wasn’t the easiest thing to do since we’ve been in the house over 25 years and never even had the windows open! I got the window open then with a tiny screwdriver was able to loosen the screen holders, wiggle them around and pop the screen out.

I’m happy to say I outsmarted the squirrel because there is no way he can climb up glass. I have not seen him since I removed the screen. Birds yes, squirrels no. I know squirrels have to eat also but the back yard is full of trees with berries and seeds with enough for both the squirrels and birds to share.

I hope you enjoyed my silly story on how I outsmarted the squirrel on silly Saturday. These two pictures are a sneak peak for my Spiritual Sunday Easter blog. May you all have a wonderful weekend.
