Our Sunday Dinner

So the other day I walked up to the meat department at Kroger, scanned the beef packages with my eyes looking for the special little yellow stickers. I FOUND ONE!!! It cost $4.60 for a little over a pound of steak that was about 1″ thick! Now what to turn it into for our Sunday dinner.

I had the package of steak on the counter and went to get a pepper and onion out of the fridge. When I turned around Lia had opened the steak package, put it on the cutting board and told me she was going to chop it up. So with a little help from me, we cut the steak in thin strips then added our secret marinade sauce! Lia covered the bowl and tossed it back and forth to mix everything up then let it set while I sauteed the peppers and onions in a small amount of butter and avocado oil.

After the peppers and onions were lightly browned I removed them from the pan and set aside while the meat was cooking. I cook it quick and then added the peppers and onions back in the pan and mixed everything together to simmer.

Meanwhle I had put scalloped potatoes in the oven and they were done when the steak was ready. Add a side of steamed brocolli and Lia and I had made a delicious meal to serve 5 people for less than $6.00 for our Sunday dinner! With any leftovers, it can be turned into a tortilla wrap!

Of course Lia even cleaned up the dishes while waiting for the dinner to cook! She loves cooking and she will probably be making a complete meal by herself before we know it! By the way, dinner was so good and filling too!
