Our New Gravatar
An “Avatar” is an image that represents you online—a little picture that appears next to your name when you interact with websites. A “Gravatar” is a Globally Recognized Avatar. When you have a picture next to comments you leave on other blogs it’s a bit more personalized. It’s also easier for me to remember a face to go with the name. I’ve changed my gravatar a few times and it was time for our new gravatar a few months ago.
This is a blog I wrote previously about using Avatars or Gravatars . I kept the same picture up for many years until I updated it to a more recent one. After Lia started writing more I decided she needed to be in the gravatar also. So last year we changed to a gravatar with both Lia and me.
I looked back at our gravatar and realized she had grown up so much in just a year so it was time to update our gravatar to go along with her new category! Lia has been busy writing her Friday Story Time by Lia that shares so many things in her life. After her third birthday in August, we changed her blog category to A Day In Lia’s Shoes.
So what do you think our our new gravatar? I’m enjoying ways to keep our blog updated and looking the best it can! Do you have an avatar or gravatar?
Nice avatar/gravatar you got. Lovely smiles in your pictures too.
Thanks Danwil!
Great photo!
Thanks Roy, I needed my side kick in the gravatar as well!
The new Gravatar is lovely.Lia certainly has become a big part of the blog happenings.
Thank you Amrita, I’m having so much fun blogging with Lia!
It’s a beautiful new gravatar. And Lia is just growing by leaps and bounds! It’s neat to be a part of her life, even distantly.
Thank you Jeanine! We are a team and she needed to be on the gravatar.
Martha, yay! It’s a beautiful, classic image, and you both look great. Now, you know: Lia will be sprouting so much that you’ll have to update the gravatar every 6 months or who-knows! Another bit of good fun! <3
Thanks Kebba, I was thinking the same thing with how quickly Lia is growing and changing!
love love love your new gravatar….
Thanks Vidya!
People *want* to burden their memories with faces in cyberspace? How odd. I use a cat picture from Morguefile whenever a site demands an avatar–have used different ones to meet different sites’ size requirements. (The black cat pictures commemorate a cat from the time before digital photography existed, so none of the cat pictures has even been one of my cats.) Of course, WordPress has assigned me a couple of quilt patches.
I like the idea of putting a face with the story on my blogs Priscilla. Thanks for visiting, I’ll check out your cat!
Great photo!
Thanks Amanda, since Lia is a big part of our blog, she needed to be in the picture too.
