O is for Omelette
O is for Omelette
Who doesn’t like an omelette. So for the A to Z Challenge today, the letter O is for Omelette. I love making omelettes and adding ham or bacon, cheese, lots of cheese, onions and sometimes peppers to my eggs. I’m going to give you my recipe for how I make my omelette.
First I cut an onion and ham slices in small pieces and fry in a small amount of oil. Some times I add these in without cooking but I like to have them browned when I add them to the eggs.
Next I add a few eggs in a bowl, add the ham and onions, then sprinkle in some shredded cheese. I mix it all together and add more cheese!
I pour the mixture into a frying pan and it smells so good while it’s cooking. I didn’t add peppers to this one, but when I do, I brown them with the onions.
Some times I add a side of fried potatoes. A quick way to to this, I microwave the potatoes with skin in, for a few minutes then I cut in small pieces and fry in butter while the omelette is cooking.
Just before I remove the omelette, I add more shredded cheese, cover just until it melts. I don’t make omelettes just for breakfast, we have them quite often for dinner as well. Breakfast or dinner is served with the letter O for Omelette!
I’m enjoying the A to Z April Blog Challenge, writing about the letter O today. The challenge is to write a blog starting with the first letter of the alphabet on day one and continue through the month every day except Sunday. For the previous letter, I wrote about N is for Never Forget and I received over 60 views on the day I posted that blog. If you are participating in this challenge, please share your blog link in comments, I’d love to read yours!
Another great blog challenge is the Ultimate Blog Challenge . The challenge is to write a blog a day for the month of April and so far I’ve completed it every day.
I love a nice, fluffy omelette with nothing added except a little butter – yummy!
Oh yes, has to be butter! I cook most everything in butter, not oil, gotta be real butter! Thanks for popping in Bill.
I love omelettes. My family has them a lot for different meals. They are quick and easy to prepare.
That’s what I like about them Sandy, they can be for any meal, not just breakfast. Another thing I like about them is I put different things in them, depending on my mood! I love them especially when eggs are on sale for 70 cents a dozen! Thanks for stopping by.
