No Power at Home So Went Out for Dinner
No Power at Home So Went Out for Dinner
Well, I am a bit off schedule on the Ultimate Blog Challenge due to a visit from Hurricane Matthew. So since I’m a few days late I wanted to get one up quick. The Hurricane left us without power and the food in both our freezers may not fare too well. Our shop is about 5 miles from our home and early afternoon he residents and business owners were allowed back in. Were we surprised to see we have power!
We went back home but still no power so we decided to go out to eat. Yes, we’re eating out but nothing is open! I packed up by induction burner, frying pan and utensils to take to our shop to cook dinner. I quickly opened the freezer and grabbed a package of pork chops that were still frozen so I knew they were good along with a few potatoes.
Do you come up with out of the ordinary ways to do things under circumstances beyond your control? I love to think outside of the box and our dinner was delicious!
So glad you are well. What a great story! Those little impromptu dinners are the best 🙂
We are even better now, the power came back! But not until I made breakfast and dinner again today at our shop. I’m gonna miss those. LOL But just goes to show we can make the best out of not so good times. Thanks for visiting Jennifer.
I think your idea of using the curtain rods as a lid was ingenious! And it worked! What a wonderful testimony of making a meal in a situation that was difficult.
I love thinking outside of the box but I think the curtain rod lid was definitely a first! But it worked and that’s the mean thing. I made breakfast and dinner today but I remembered to bring my silicone lid! Thanks for stopping by Maribeth.
that’s too cute! lol
It was so romantic Alexandra, dinner with a view of the fabrics. LOL I made breakfast and dinner today, I’m gonna miss it now that the power is back on. Thanks for stopping by!
you do what you gotta do!!
Power is back on and I’m gonna miss my Tiki Square dinners! Thanks to my review items, that made things a lot easier. Thanks for stopping by Terry.
good idea to overcome will power shut down 🙂
Thanks Bushra, we made the best of a bad situation and it turned out great. There was only one restaurant open in our area and there was over a two hour wait. My idea was fun and romantic! LOL
