NO MORE THE YOUNGEST CHILD
I was the youngest child with my sister being 3 years older. We had a typical family, the oldest child was always right and the youngest child got blamed. Why I can remember way back when I was about what 2 years old, I have no idea. It was in the middle of the night on Christmas morning and my sister says we need to go check if Santa arrived. Quietly we went to the living room and saw all the presents. She sees something way under the tree and tells me to crawl under and get it. Since I always did what I was told, I went to retrieve it only to have the tree come crashing down with me under it. So as to not get it trouble, oldest sister scurried back to the bedroom like she knew nothing.
Fast forward to when I was nine years old and my mom was about 38. She had been have bad pains and thinking she had appendicitis, my dad took her to the doctor. She came home with my little sister, having no idea she was expecting. LOL so now that meant I was now the middle child. Now there are three children the oldest who is the favorite, the youngest who is the cutest and the middle one. Yup, just the middle one who now gets blamed on everything from both the oldest and the youngest.
Now our happy family was older child, the favorite; the middle child, the one who gets blamed for everything and the cute. adorable one that can do no wrong little child.
But we all had a great childhood, even the time my little sister chased me around the yard and I ran into a metal pipe, sliced my shin to the bone and I still have a 5″ scar to remind me of that day. She said I was chasing her and she’s probably right because she’s the youngest child and she could do no wrong.
Fast forward again to about 43 years later. I was never into computers but when my 5 year old granddaughter was in kindergarten and knew more about technology than I did, it was time to call in my little sister for reinforcements. See besides being the little, can’t do anything wrong, little sister was brainy and knew all about computers. So hubby gets me a cool Dell desktop which had a monitor like a tank and there I sit wondering what the heck I’m suppose to do. Ah, call little sister! She walked me through things over the phone and I actually caught on rather quickly. Of course there where those times of panic when I had to call her for things that appeared and I had now idea what to do. Little sister was so helpful in teaching me but then again, isn’t that what a little sister is suppose to do?
So now fast forward again about 15 years later and I was finally able to pay back my little sister for her teaching me about the computer. Little by little I came across online earning sites, money earning apps and product review sites. I finally get little sister hooked on a few. Her first win was a washer and dryer after just starting her new addicting habit! She is now almost as busy as I am with her freebies coming in the mail and her gift cards stacking up. What started as me being the youngest child had a very happy ending when I magically turned into the middle child the day my little sister appeared out of nowhere.
I’m so glad things turned out the way they did almost 56 years ago and even though she took my title, I love me little sister!
I thought this was perfect for a Throwback Thursday!
Disclaimer: To the best of my 67 year old brain, this is how I remember things happening! Hope you enjoy reading this. Do you have siblings, are they younger or older? Maybe you’re even the middle child!
