New Blog Challenge In Town

When I started blogging back in December 2014 I had never even heard of blog challenges. In January 2016 somehow I stumbled onto the Ultimate Blog Challenge. I thought it would be interesting to see if I could come up with a topic and write a blog for each day of the month. I completed my first challenge and then I found out the UBC challenge happened every January, April, July, and October! After completing my first monthly challenge I was hooked and ready for another challenge. Besides my love for the UBC there is now a new blog challenge in town!

I always looked forward to the monthly Ultimate Blog Challenge and occasionally I would find another one. I enjoyed finding other challenges along the way and once I start one I’m determined to complete it.

Fast forward to the April 2020 when I joined and completed a the Ultimate Blog Challenge then 5 more challenges until October. When I complete this month, it will be my 7th blog challenge in a row that I joined in and completed a blog and sometimes I wrote two every day! It will also be my 5th year anniversary of joining and completing the 20 Ultimate Blog Challenges since January 2016 to October 2020.

After the July challenge ended my blogger friend Jeanine Byers and I started chatting about finding a blog challenge to do in September to help get us ready for the October Ultimate Blog Challenge. It only took a few chats and before you know it Jeanine and I had created the Cornerstone Content Blog Challenge! After mentioning it to a few other blogger friends they wanted to hear more. We told them the challenge was something to help those get in gear for the great UBC!

In September Jeanine and I hosted the first Cornerstone Content Blog Challenge and while it was small it was a great success!

This group is built around a 31-day blog challenge, hosted in September, December, March and June. This challenge is slightly different than some of the others, each day a pinned thread will be dedicated to sharing posts for that day but you’re encouraged to post it separately too. As soon as you join you can see the blog topic prompts for the entire month in the files. As you can see from the list some of the prompts were a challenge in themselves but they were exciting to say the least and the participants blogs were awesome!

So the Cornerstone Content Blog Challenge will be held every month just before each Ultimate Blog Challenge, a great way to get ready for the UBC hosted by Paul T. If anyone is interested in joining this challenge you can contact Jeanine Byer, myself Martha DeMeo, send us an email at CCCblogging @gmail.com or request to join through https://www.facebook.com/groups/cornerstonecontentchallenge/

Blogging is so exciting and when you put a challenge to the blog it is super exciting to see if we are able to complete the challenge. But I’ve always said you are a winner even if you fall short a few days, at least you gave it your all! Jeanine and I would love to have you check us out and hopefully join in the Cornerstone Content Blog Challenge for December!

I started my blog on Christmas Day 2014 mainly to review products I received. Since then it has evolved into many other categories of lifestyles, family, money saving ideas, low cost, delicious and healthy meals plus other surprise posts. My granddaughter has her own category, Alex's Articles and the latest addition to my blog is my great granddaughter now has her category, Lia's Likings The Baby Blogger! Lia started blogger at 8 months old and she now has a Friday Story Time blog you won't want to miss! I welcome you to join the conversation, ask a question, give a suggestion or leave a comment on any blog post. I hope you enjoy Lia's Likings, she has some great posts that will make you smile!

Something to certainly think about doing!

  2. Interesting! I will have to take a look at this!

  3. I admit that I use a different calendar, but I do remember the ditty- 30 days hath September, April, June, and November. All the rest have 31, save February which alternates 28 and 29.
So, tell me- how do you get a 31 day challenge in September and June?

    • Martha says:

We have extra credit for those months Roy! Actually they can have the option of posting 30 and 31 the same day. One is posted at midnight, the other is posted at noon. But just doing one is fine. Come on over and visit, you don’t have to post everyday.

  4. I am so glad we started that challenge, Martha! And this post is a good reminder to get back to choosing my blog topics for December. I’m glad we have another month to get ready for the next one. 😉

I’m excited to get the prompts up Jeanine! I’ve been looking online for ideas. Quite a few people are interested in it! You know November will go by fast, right? I’ll be checking in with you soon!

  6. I love challenges. Not only do they help me rise up – in quality and quantity, but I also get to meet amazing people along the way. Thanks for doing this new one! I somehow missed the one in September – so even in a busy December I look forward to this one!

  7. Martha, wow! You’ve got me thinking about joining the Cornerstone challenge! I love your energy. Would you put me on the info list?

I have happy to hear the next one is in December because in November I do the NaNo thing. I love both you ladies and am grateful to both of you for starting this wonderful new challenge. I am hoping to join in, in December.
