New Beginning with the Circle of Life
In April 2017 I wrote a blog about how a rose starts from a tiny bud, then blossoms into something so beautiful. In time, the petals start to drop off and the rose dies. As a new bud appears, the circle of life continues. I compared the life of a rose to that of the life of people. We are born, we grow up and thrive, then wither and die. But like the rose, life continues when a new little person is born and a new beginning with the circle of life continues on once again. This is my blog I wrote with time lapse photos of the rose from the beginning to end.

This past January 13th my husband’s mom passed away at almost 102 years old. But not only did my mother-in-law pass away in January, my mom and dad also passed away in different years but in the month of January. This is the blog I wrote for the January Ultimate Blog Challenge.

How ironic that we would have not one but two new great grandbabies come into the world shortly after mother-in-law passed on. Our oldest grandson and his wife welcomed the most precious little princess into the world on February 4th and his younger brother and his sweetie welcomed their little prince on March 23rd. A new beginning with the circle of life will keep the family blooming with the birth of our 6th and 7th great grandbabies.
As you look at the circle of life of a rose, it’s easy to see how it compares to people. The beautiful rose withered and died, so did a person but the new life was brought by two precious babies that will carry on the circle of life.
Congratulations! What a beautiful metaphor. I too, grow roses and love them despite the wicked thorns—another aspect of life that connects us to Christ’s sufferings on the Cross. Fitting for this Holy Week Of Easter coming up.
Thank you!
Debi
You are so right, a small thorn that we might get in our finger is nothing to the suffering that Christ did for us. Thank you for visiting and have a blessed Holy Week Debi.
Thank you! I still have a thorn buried deep in my knuckle from the Spring pruning I did. But it was worth it. They are about to explode in blooms.
Those thorns do hurt Debi! I actually had a painful “bump” under the skin on my thumb and I “operated” on it this morning. There was a tiny piece of a thorn that was embedded in my thumb! Yes, this too was worth it. I’d love to see your roses sometime!
This is so sweet. It’s a lovely way to look at life. Your photos are beautiful, too.
This is just another point of my life trying to stay positive Bonnie. There are so many similarities between a flower and life. Thanks for stopping by.
I could hear the Elton John song scoring your post. Those roses are so exquisitely beautiful!! Beauty in memory of those loved ones who touched your lives. And how wonderful to have that circle of life continue with the birth of your wee ones.
Ah, I love when Elton John sings the Circle of Life Jeanine! Dying is part of life and it’s perfect that the circle will continue with two new ones in the family.
woww! loved the pictures
Thanks Vidhya, I enjoyed using the rose to write about the circle of life in people.
