The North American Nature Photography Association (NANPA) along with millions of photographers and photography lovers across the nation observe Nature Photography Day on June 15th. Nature lovers and photographers alike celebrate this day with enthusiasm. They capture the breath-taking beauty all around us and encourage others to see the wonders of our natural Earth. Whether they take photos of wildlife, landscapes or both, the do so with a sense of awe. It’s in the spirit of preservation of these wonders that NANPA created the celebration. Lia’s wheel barrow wild flowers

Hi I’m Lia, your tour guide to show you my backyard botanical garden. Did you know today was Nature Photography Day? Let’s get started, I hope you enjoy the tour of all the flowers that ma took with her Google Pixel 3 phone camera. .

These are some close ups or my wheel barrow wild flowers. These flowers came in a container with seeds and I sprinkled them on the soil, watered them and watched them turn into beautiful flowers.

Do you see the ladybug on the flower? This is one of my favorite photographs that ma took!

Pink and purple are my favorite colors and there are so many different flowers in those colors in my wheel barrow garden.

These little white flowers are so dainty and if you look carefully you’ll see a tiny insect on one of the petals. Can you find it?

So many dainty flowers and so many colors!

Come walk with me this way to another section of the yard where we have lavender growing. It smells so good and check out the bee sipping on some nectar.

Look at this gladiolus buds waiting to bloom and the gorgeous red flowers on another stalk. These are such pretty flowers but they don’t last long except in photographs!

My garden tour wouldn’t be complete without showing you our gigantic hibiscus flowers. Ma took my picture in front of this bush and it looks like I’m wearing Minnie Mouse ears! The flowers are bigger than my head!

That concludes the tour, I hope you had a wonderful time seeing all my flowers on Nature Photography Day. I’m now turning you back to ma while I go tend to my flowers.

We have a gorgeous botanical garden not far from where we live and the flowers and wildlife are exquisite. If ever in the area be sure to check out Brookgreen Gardens. This is Lia’s blog when we toured the Zoo and botanical gardens at Brookgreen in February. http://themarthareview.com/a-visit-to-the-zoo/

Lia and I hope you enjoyed the mini tour of Lia’s flowers, now it’s your turn to go snap some photos of flowers and wildlife for Nature Photography Day!

  1. Hi Martha and Lia, I think this is my favorite blog. The pictures of your botanical garden are stunning! Lia, adorable as always, had me rolling on the floor laughing with the Mickey Hibiscus ears! My eyes popped at the close up of the flower with the lady bug, that is awesome! Thank you for sharing your photography skills. Sending lots of love and gratitude! Jaime
