National Teacher’s Day
Well since it’s Wordless Wednesday, it’s the perfect day to share my 4 year old great-granddaughter Lia’s National Teacher’s Day drawing she made for her 4-K teacher! HAPPY NATIONAL TEACHER’S DAY to all the teachers out there!
If you are a teacher, Happy National Teacher Day to you! If you know a teacher, be sure to wish them a great day!
As Lia was creating another teacher’s day drawing she showed me how to make a unicorn giving me step by step instructions, mine is the purple unicorn. How did I do? Maybe not quite a hallmark but I think Lia’s original drawing with a bouquet of flowers and her hearts mean so much more!
I love watching Lia when she draws, she is so focused and adds all kinds of detail. This picture started out as a bouquet of roses then after she wrote her message she added all the hearts. The the top heart is a picture of her teacher and the bottom pictures are Lia and a penquin.
Lia’s artwork is very creative. Pablo Picasso would have loved it. The colors and the energy that Lia used would have delighted him. He said, “Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.”
Thank you Alice, I’ll let Lia know. She loves drawing and painting and is so focused when she does it. I hope she retains some of her artistic work as she gets older.
This is so sweet, it brought a smile to my face. Thanks for sharing yours and Lia’s artwork!
I love when I heard that Lia’s creations brings smiles to others. I guess we could say she shares her smile on her face and through her artwork! Thanks for stopping by Kimberly.
Great job, Lia!!
Lia says thank you Angie. She loves to draw!
Love the art! Thank you for sharing, Martha.
Thank for from Lia, Laura! Her teacher loved it!
Even I got lots of gifts on teacher’s day in India. Seriously, when students draw these figure to express their love for the teacher is quite emotional for a teacher.
I’ve always said that a homemade card, drawing or even baked goods mean so much more to the reciever. Lia puts her heart into every creation she does Bhawna.
Martha, this is the second blog of yours that I’ve read and I must say, I’ve shared about you with others. I love your drawings and your friendship with Lia. I never had a grandmother so I’m getting to live vicariously through your relationship. Thanks
Awww thank you Fran, I’ll let Lia know also. She is so focused when she draws and puts so much love into everything. Her drawings usually always have lots of hearts on them.
I was a teacher as my first career, and I always enjoyed Teacher Days! 🙂 It is definitely such an underappreciated profession, and I truly honor all who continue to work in the profession with full acknowledgment of the challenges and gifts it brings! What a sweet gift for your granddaughter’s teacher.
I remember when I was young, my grandmother would pick a bouquet of lilacs, wrap them in a wet paper towel then cover with aluminium foil. They teachers loved them! At Christmas she made fruit bread and I took a little loaf in to all my teachers. I want Lia to follow with little things of appreciation for her teachers too!
Very good drawings to the both of you. I love to draw and color too.
Thanks Amanda, Lia did the drawing all by herself. Then when she should me how to make a Unicorn, I followed her instructions.
