National Cuddle Up Day
Did you know today, January 6th is National Cuddle Up Day? It’s also VERY cold in many areas so what better way to warm up, if even just warming up your heart by cuddling up with someone.
My dog Snowball loves to cuddle, he comes over and nudges me to move my chair out so he can jump up on my lap. He is the best cuddle dog and he even knows when I need a cuddle before I do!
But human cuddling is good too, it’s been said it releases oxytocin which can help reduce pain.
HOW TO OBSERVE NATIONAL CUDDLE UP DAY
The best way is to cuddle-up with someone you love whether it be your fur buddy or human buddy. Snowball and Lia love to cuddle.
When Lia’s mommy was about 6 years old we had a toy poodle. Alex would dress the dog up, cuddle with him and read him stories. Now Lia is doing the same thing with Snowball!
Did you know that even animals cuddle with other animals? My daughter’s cat sometimes thinks she’s a dog. Bella can be found many times snuggling up in the dog bed with Balto.
Whether you cuddle with a human or a pet, we all need cuddles and today is National Cuddle Up day so get cuddling!
What a cute blog post. I used to cuddle up with Duke, but now I cuddle up with Matt. I hope to see grandpa and Duke this year. 🙂

I have never heard of National Cuddle Up Day, as it is so often the case when people post about National so-and-so Day
I realized it was Cuddle Up Day at the last minute Tamara! Sometime I want to write a month of National Days for the UBC. But then I have so many other things I wouldn’t be able to write about.
I had no idea that it was National Cuddle Up day but I’ve already manage to snuggle each one of my 4 cats today. Now that I know today is an official day for it, I’ll have to make my rounds again! Thanks for sharing sweet snuggles with you, Snowball, Lia, Bella, and Balto.
Seems like we can never get enough cuddles from our four legged fur babies Kimberly!
I have a very cuddly cat. She loves attention and can’t get enough. But, alas, she’s a bit pointy when she cuddles because she doesn’t always remember to retract her (very precious) claws!
Oh my Alice, you’ll have to have a talk with her before she cuddles with you. LOL She sounds like my daughter’s cat!

My kitty Percy likes to cuddle *sometimes* – oft when I’m watching a show, or at night… until he gets the zoomies and needs to be in another room!!
That’s like my daughter’s kitty, “sometimes” she’s so sweet and other times, will we’ll leave it at that Nadya!
I knew it was cuddle up day and Charlie wasn’t feeling good yesterday so we grabbed our favorite blankets, Hot Chocolate turned on one of mine and C’s favorite movies and climbed onto the couch with our dogs and Cat napped off and on. Once David got in from work he brought us dinner and joined us on the couch making Cuddle Up Day a family day.
