My Visit to the Dentist

It’s Friday and you know what that means….. it’s Friday Story Time by Lia! Today I’m going to tell you about my visit to the dentist! Mommy was ready to take me just before my second birthday but then COVID changed that. The dentists weren’t taking new patients so I had to wait. We finally got an appointment for yesterday and while I was a little nervous, I was excited also. I always brush my teeth at least twice a day because I want to keep them healthy.

My appointment was 8:30 in the morning so we had to leave home about 7:30AM. When we got to the dentist office, mommy had to call and let the dentist know we arrived. When it was time for my appointment, the dentist called mommy back and said to come on in.

I was so excited when we walked in the waiting room and saw a welcome sign for new patients and my name was on it! A nurse called me back to the exam room so I grabbed mommy’s hand and walked in like a big girl.

The exam room was so cheerful and the dentist was very friendly. I jumped up in the big chair and checked things out before the dentist started checking my teeth.

The first thing the dentist did was cover my dress with a big towel and then asked me was to smile so she could check how well my teeth lined up. Of course it was no problem for me to find a smile to share! She counted my teeth, told mommy about when I might start losing my baby teeth and get big girl teeth! I have a few years to go for that but she said I will start losing them in the order they came in.

Next she examined my teeth and had a little mirror to check the inside of them. The dentist had an electric toothbrush and it made my teeth feel funny when the little electric brush went over each tooth. Then she sprayed water and air on my teeth while cleaning them.

The dentist even let me hold the air gun! The only part I wasn’t excited about when when the dentist put some strawberry tasting gel on a cotton swab and rubbed it all over my teeth. She said it was a treatment that would help keep my teeth strong. Since I couldn’t rinse my mouth out, the dentist put the air gun in my mouth again to remove any liquid.

When my exam was finished, I received a bag with a toothbrush, toothpaste, dental floss and some stickers! I jumped out of the big exam chair and said thank you to the dentist.

My visit to the dentist was done and the dentist said my teeth are excellent and I was a great patient! My sweatshirt says it all…. I’m fearless and wasn’t scared at all!! I will go back in June for another check up and cleaning, I want to keep my teeth healthy and looking good!

Thanks for stopping by and visiting A Day In Lia’s Shoes and my Friday Story Time by Lia! I’ll be back next Friday with anohter exciting story!
