My Vegetable Garden
Have I got an exciting blog today for Friday Story Time by Lia! It was about six weeks ago when I planted my pumpkin seeds that I saved from our last year’s pumpkins. Wait until you see how my vegetable garden is growing!
To get the full picture, here is my I Started My Garden blog when I planted my pumpkin seeds on April 12th.
When I visited GGmama and papa’s on April 25th the first thing I did was go check my pumpkin plants. Look right here, look how they are growing! I was so excited I started jumping up and down!
Not even a week later the plants had grown even bigger. Watching my plants grow is fun. Every time I visited my garden the pumpkin plants were bigger and bigger!
Last week when I checked my garden it needed weeding. I started pulling the weeds out of the dirt and look how dirty my fingers are! Papa even got me a little hoe, it’s just my size for leveling the soil in the garden after I pull the weeds.
Yes I’m wearing my bathing suit because it was so hot and I can jump in my pool to cool off after all my hard work in the garden.
WOW look at the size of the pumpkin leaves now!
So after I planted the seeds, they grew into tiny leaves. The leaves got bigger and bigger! Then the other day when I checked them out, the plants were full of blossoms. Mama told me I might be seeing pumpkins soon.
I have pumpkins! They are tiny but I’m hoping my two tiny pumpkins will grow into big pumpkins!
We have squash too!
Look what else we have in the garden, more big leaves! These are way bigger than my pumpkin leaves! Mama always plants summer squash, that’s one of her favorite vegetables.
Look at the squash, I was so excited to see vegetables growing in the garden. But look what else I saw, a bee collecting pollen from the squash blossoms.
Are you ready for some delicious fresh squash? Today I picked the first squash this season. I found them hiding under the big leaves!
Mama sliced the squash and fried them. Do you see the sad face on the piece of squash? LOL I’m not sure if I’m gonna like this but I’ll give it a try! EDIT: I did try it but I like corn on the cob better!
Between my flower garden and vegetable garden I keep very busy at GGmama’s and papa’s. But I’m learning so much and I love that! I hope you enjoyed your visit to my vegetable garden for Friday Story Time by Lia. I’m having a good time with both my flower garden and vegetable garden! Oh and baking too, that will be tomorrow’s project!
Wow, lia your garden is beautiful just like you.
Lia says thank you and is sending you hugs and love Brenda! She loves the outdoors and her gardens. Of course she also loves baking so she can enjoy eating at Lia’s Garden Cafe!
I love Fried Squash but C wanted me to tell Lia Corn On the Cob is better.. Which it is good but not as good as Fresh Squash. Congrats on the Pumpkins
Well I guess C and Lia have the same taste buds Glenda! You and I have the same too, I love fried squash! Sometimes our dinner is just squash and corn on the cob!
I’m so glad your garden is getting so big. Those veggies look amazing.
It’s growing outside of the raised bed Amanda. I love summer squash and we’ve been picking squash all week!
