My Trip Home from Indiana
For my Friday Story Time by Lia I planned to share part two of my trip to Indiana but we had a change of plans on my trip home from Indiana yesterday so my story changed too!
Uncle Zac drove mommy and me to the Indianapolis airport yesterday morning so we could make our 10AM flight. We made it on time and mommy was waiting in a long line to check our bag to go to Charlotte, NC then to Myrtle Beach, SC. There was a problem and we didn’t have time to board the plane. So mommy was talking with the lady about getting on another plane. Arrangements were made to get on the next flight but we had to fly to Washington DC then on to Charlotte NC.
They had no room on the plane going to Myrtle Beach from Charlotte so while mommy and I were flying to Washington, pop and ma were driving 3 1/2 hours to Charlotte to meet us when our plane arrived. An ice storm was forecasted to begin sometime late last night so we had to get home as quick as we could.
Indianapolis Airport
We boarded the airplane and this is the first time I’ve had a seat of my own! All the other times I’ve flown I was little and sat on mommy’s lap. Mommy was so excited because she could pick who she sat next to, of course it was me! I wanted the window seat so I could see what was happening in the sky.
But so much for seeing what was going on, shortly after take off, I took off for a nap! I woke up early for our hour drive to the airport then we had to run to where the plane was taking off from and I was just so tired!
Washington DC Ronald Reagan Airport
Our flight from Indiana to Washington DC was about 1 1/2 hours and since I slept most of the time I didn’t even use my window! But once we got off the plane I was wide awake and ready to take my carry-on to the next airplane! Mommy and I hurried from one end of the airport to the other to catch our next plane. That plane was suppose to leave in an hour but once we got on the plane, we had to wait for what seemed forever for the plane to take off. There were so many planes waiting to leave both in front and behind us! We finally took off and up in the air we went!
Charlotte NC
The flight to Charlotte was only about 1 1/2 hours also but the wait made it more like 2 hours. This is the plane we were on! We finally made it to Charlotte where ma and pop were waiting for us! We had a long walk from where we got off the plane to where the car was and my little legs had done so much walking already so pop gave me a lift! Because of the winter storm warning in Myrtle Beach area pop didn’t waste any time getting back home before the icy rain started.
Of course as soon as I walked in the house Snowball was so excited to see me! He started jumping and dancing and giving me kisses and more kisses! I think he really missed me and was so happy to see me back home!
I went on two airplanes and three different airports! My Friday Story Time is short today because I was so tired after my super two weeks in Indiana and I have so many more exciting things to tell you about my trip but that will have to wait. Now I need to go unpack and get ready to check out all my Christmas toys that I haven’t even had time to play with yet!
How cute! I am so glad you enjoyed your trip! And that you missed the ice storm! Airports are very fun, aren;t they? I can’t wait to hear about your next trip!
Lia says, Thank you Dominique! I wanted to see snow in Indiana but it didn’t snow until we got home. I did so much running in the different airports, it was fun and tiring.
This weather is not delightful for travel! I’m glad you made it safely.
Luckly we were traveling right after one storm had been cleaned up and just before another one Lora!
I think you hasd a nice time. The little one looks happy…the dog is very cute!
We all had a great time Sinziana but it’s always great to get home.
Sounds like it was an exciting day. I would be exhausted having to do all of that walking and waiting. Good for you for being a little trooper while the grow ups sorted things out. Can’t wait to hear the rest of the story.
“My plane trip was so exciting but I was so tired when we got off the last plane. Glad pop was there to carry me to the car Shepherds Run Farm.”
What a journey! Glad you got home safely! I was trying to keep Snowball company from afar, but he’s much happier now that you are back!
“I saw Snowball when I Facetime ma and pop, he looked so sad. But he’s happy I’m home Tamara!”
Such a nice story. Welcome home Lia!
Lia says, “Thank you Mr. Steve, I had a fun time in the airports!”
Great read! Love all your photos!
Thank you Hanna!
Lia looked like she handled all of the changes and challenges really well. Glad you made it home safe!
“It was a fun trip home for sure Victoria!”
What an adventure!!! I am so happy you were able to fly and Indiana and made it home safely. Travel is fun, but sometimes can be a little more adventurous than we had at home. Look forward to more stories from Indiana.
Lia says, “I had a fun adventure in Indiana plus flying home on two airplanes. Was happy to see ma, pop and Snowball!”
Ah, Martha…
You made me remember the days of my heavy traveling.
Where I would say to myself: Mama told me there’d be days like this…
Mama’s know best Roy! Alex wasn’t too happy with the Washington DC airport, they made her wait too long!
Lia, that’s a LOT of traveling! Sounds like you had a great time in Indiana (which I hear is beautiful in the summer) and Pop got you back home before it got too icy. What a relief for Snowball, to see you really did come back! Dogs can’t understand some things, and I thought he was worried you were not returning. So YAY! Everybody had a good time and everybody is back home. Blessings!
Lia says, “I had so much fun in Indiana with Uncle Zac and helping in his shop Kebba! This is the first plane trip where I’ve had my own seat! I was so excited to see Snowball!”
Glad you had a great trip. 🙂
It’s fun to get away but we’re always ready to get home Amanda.
