My Spring Bake Sale was a Success

Do you know what day it is? Well it’s Friday so that means it’s Friday Story Time by Lia and I have an excited blog about my spring bake sale fundraiser! This is my third year participating in the Alzheimer’s Fundraiser in memory of my great-great gramma and my neighbor Ruthie.

This year I added something new to my bake sale, I dipped pretzel sticks in melted white chocolate melts and covered them with sprinkles! I had just lost my 5th tooth, a front one this time and I could stick a pretzel in the empty space!

Since I’m busy at school I don’t have as much time to bake so my neighbor friend Judy helped Ma when I wasn’t here. Friday they made the Italian cookies and they were ready for me to frost and add sprinkles when I got home. Then Ma, Judy and I bagged up all the cookies, brownies, pretzels and even doggy biscuits.

I had fun baking, decorating, bagging and setting up the table Friday night so Lia’s Sunshine Bakery Alzheimer’s fundraiser would be all ready for the 8AM sale to start. Mommy and I stayed with ma so I could get up bright and early. I was so tired after getting everything ready, I jumped in bed and Snowball came over and snuggled next to me all night.

Saturday morning came and people started coming right about 8AM because many are the same people that always come to the garage/bake sale and they love my cookies and brownies. The brownies and doggy biscuits were gone by 9AM! I guess I should make a bigger batch of those for my next sale.

People get to the sale early and it’s busy a few hours then there is a break until the next bunch of people come by. Judy was a big help at the sale and she even brought drinks over and we took a little break in between people.

My spring fundraiser was a success! I received $300.00 in donations at the sale making my total raised for this year $1080.00!

But wait, I received a few more donations after the sale, so look at the total of my fundraising progress now, $1160.00! A big thank you to everyone who helped make Lia’s Sunshine Bakery Alzheimer’s fundraiser a great success.

The sale was over by 1PM and was I tired but I had so much fun raising money for Alzheimer’s. I like to take silly Snap Chat photos and this is me having a facial after the sale. I have one more Friday Story Time by Lia before the end of the month but may take one of Ma’s days since I have a few stories to tell! Have a fun weekend!

A NOTE FROM MA: I am so proud of Lia and all she does to help others whether it be at school, her friends and neighbors and her Alzheimer’s Fundraiser. This four foot, 40 pound sweetheart is full of love, compassion and sunshine! This is her third year doing Lia’s Sunshine Bakery Alzheimer’s Fundraiser and to day she has raised close to $5000.00.
