My Personalized Recipe Book
Hi again, it’s another Friday Story Time by Lia and I’m excited to show you some late Christmas gifts I got from Ma’s sister when she visited us last month. Look at my personalized recipe book Aunt Nancy gave me!
This little penguin is so cute and it has my bakery name on the wipe clean cover. I’ll have so much fun adding my recipes to Lia’s Sunshine Bakery Recipe book!
I’ve been creating a lot of my own recipes for cookies, cakes and even spiral noodles with cheese sauce so this will be great to write the recipes in. The pages have lots of room for me to write the ingredients and instructions down so I’ll have all my recipes in one place now. Ma even had the idea to take a picture of the finished recipe and tape it to the page.
And look at these! They are silicone strips that I can lock together and make different shapes when baking cakes or muffins! How neat is this.
I made cinnamon muffins to try the strips out and they were so easy to use. They even come with a silicone baking mat to set the cups on.
Aunt Nancy knows I love sprinkles so she gave me four bags of sprinkles, just look at the colors!
You might have noticed my apron in the picture making my cinnamon muffins. I reached Solstice Champion in my Lia’s Sunshine Bakery Alzheimer’s Fundraiser for the third year in a row and was surprised when I received this in the mail a few weeks ago. I guess you can see I won’t be eating corn on the cob this summer, I just lost my two top teeth! My four bottom ones grew in quickly, now waiting for my big girl top teeth.
I love aprons and wanted to put it on right away so Ma said she would help me tie it but I told her I got it! It was a little trickier than tying my shoes that I can see but I got it tied and I was ready to bake!
I hope you all had fun reading my blog today and I’ll be back next Friday for another exciting blog adventure about my trip to Indiana. I am having so much fun with Uncle Zac!
Congratulations on reaching Champion! What an accomplishment! Your recipe book will be such a treasure! Be sure to make plenty of notes in the margins and it will be precious memory for years to come.
Lia says, “Thank you Jodi. I’m so excited to have my own recipe book so I can keep all my recipes in one place.
Lia, I love your baking reports! I was also quite the little baker when I was young. Now: these flexible silicone strips are Da Bomb! I must find some! (Where did you get yours?) Also, I love love love the recipe book. And Martha’s idea to add photos to the pages is great. When I start writing down recipes, I suddenly remember a bunch more that I never wrote down. Maybe that will happen to you? Then your book will fill up fast and you’ll have to start Volume 2! Won’t that be fun?
Lia says, “Thank you Kebba! Did you have fun baking when you were young, I love baking and creating my own recipes so this book will be great to write them in. My aunt gave me this for Christmas and she told Ma she found it from an FB ad, Ma’s going to try to find out where. Yes that will probably happen to me, I’ve created some recipes before Ma started writing them down so now I’ll have to go back and remake them!”
What a cool new gadget! That looks like so much fun!
Lia has so much fun when baking and her new “additions” are super cool Alice!
You are certainly better equipped in your kitchen than the average housewife 😉 Love the recipe book, it’ll be fun to look at when you’re older “Look, I made cinnamon muffins”. The silicon stripes look fun and versatile, and I know how you love sprinkles, so you’re going to have so much fun with them!
Keep baking – and smiling, don’t sweat about the front teeth!
Thank you Tamara, I love to bake and create my own recipes. Ma said she was like me with her gramma when she was my age. But she didn’t use sprinkles! LOL I should have my front teeth by Christmas but I’m not sweating it because I can still bite and apple from my side teeth! LOL
What a lovely post, Lia!! I’m so glad you have your new recipe book. What a great Christmas present, for Christmas in July! 😉 And what a cool Shape and Bake set. Congrats on your apron, too. Have a wonderful weekend.
Lia was so excited to receive her new baking items and especially the recipe book Jeanine. I know this will be a wonderful memory keepsake as she gets older.
What a fantastic activity for kids! I’ve never seen these “shake and bake” cakes before. They look like they had so much fun. I look forward to your next post!
Lia says, I will have so much fun after creating my recipes to write them in my new recipe book Kristine.
