My New Apron and Pizzelle Cookies
It’s Story Time by Lia I’m sharing my surprise with you! Look at my new apron and Pizzelle cookies I made. Don’t I look adorable and I love the butterflies in the fabric! This was the first time I made cookies in a cookie maker.
I had a BIG surprise the other day. My neighbor surprised me with an apron, chef hat and matching face mask that she made and the fabric has butterflies on it! But there were also 2 more masks and they were all in a tote bag with rainbows! One mask had little handprints and the other was a Halloween mask with orange and white pumpkins. Isn’t this the cutest? The apron has two big pockets and it’s trimmed in pink, my favorite color. It fits me perfectly and I love the matching hat for when I’m baking! Thank you so much Ms. Donna!
Along with all my surprises Donna put a note in the tote bag. Mama is saving all the notes that people send me so when I get older she can give them to me to bring back memories.
I was visiting my gramma this past weekend and found out mama made a cake while I was gone! I tasted it when I got home and it was delicious. So it’s my turn now to bake something wearing my new apron and chef hat!!
Pizelle Cookies
Last night I made Pizzelle cookies. Pizzelle cookies are an Italian waffle cookie made with a pizzelle maker and sprinkled with powdered sugar. This was my first attempt at making them and I had to be very careful because the pizzelle maker gets very hot.
I started out mixing the eggs and butter together then added the sugar, flour, baking powder and vanilla flavoring.
Once again the batter was so good I had to taste it before I started making them. Doesn’t my apron and chef hat look great?
Very carefully, with mama’s help, I dropped the batter on the Pizzelle maker. It took a few tries and some practice to get them cooked perfectly so they didn’t get too browned.
By the time the batter was almost gone, mama and I got the hang of of! After the were done I sprinkled confectioners sugar on them and they were so good!
You knew this was coming didn’t you? I grabbed the bowl when we were finished making the Pizzelle cookies and licked it clean! This time it was my turn since mama licked the bowl when she made her cake!
Mama found the recipe for the Pizzelle cookies on the Culinaryhill website. Here is the recipe: https://www.culinaryhill.com/pizzelle-italian-cookies/ If you try these, let me know how you like them. While I was waiting for them to cool I took a few selfies of my funny face! You know I had to add my silly face to bring you a few laughs.
I love your new apron, Lia! When are you going to start your own bakery? 🙂
Lia loves to bake and she has a backyard Lia’s Garden Cafe for her little friends Angela. She is planning an ice cream social soon! LOL
Oh, how cute is this apron and chef’s hat! She is so adorable! And she is quite the chef — I look forward to seeing what she does next!
Thank you Dominique! I wish we all lived close enough to get together for a tasting party with Lia’s sweets!
I think the apron is such a sweet gift from your neighbor, along with that note!!! And it’s adorable, too! I love seeing you cook, too, Lia.
I was totally surprised Jeanine! I knew she made masks and thought perhaps she was bringing a mask to her but never expected such a beautiful baking outfit complete with a variety of masks! She’s been wearing the Halloween one since it’s in the season!
You guys are awesome
Thanks Brandon, Lia loves baking and she’s also learning so much. She loves her new apron and chef hat!
This entire post is so delicious and Lia licking the bowl is amazing
Licking the bowl was always my favorite when I helped baked with my grandmother Amrita! I sure do miss it but Lia has taken over! LOL
That looks really good. I want to know more about the pizzelle maker. Nice!!!!
They are delicious and melt in her mouth Grandma!

And I learned about a new cookie today – I am going to look for a pizzelle maker now
Donna is such a sweetheart to bring Lia all her surprise gifts Vidya! I’m so glad her smiles and pictures bring so much joy to others. Let me know if you make Pizzelle cookies!!
Love to see little ones cooking!
I even baked today, making some pumpkin spice muffins. Feeling very grown-up, so didn’t even lick the spoon. Mostly because our eggs were old.
Oh they sound delicious Virginia. I’m not a fan of pumpkin but when it has spice I love it. I’ll have to let Lia know you didn’t lick the spoon!
What a cute apron, Lia! Those cookies look amazing too.
Lia was so surprised when our neighbor brought down an apron, chef hat and 3 masks Amanda. Now she has 3 aprons.
