My Little Oster Chopper
A few weeks ago Lia was making zucchini bread but I had to slice and chop the zucchini with a knife because I couldn’t find my little hand slicer or chopper. But that didn’t stop the bread from tasting delicious! A few days after we made the bread, I received my little Oster chopper!
I had half a zucchini left from the first batch of bread and I was excited to see how the chopper would work. So Lia grabbed her apron and we got to work! I sliced the zucchini in about 3/4″ slices and Lia put them in the cup.
It holds three cups, a good amount for a small chopper and has a stainless steel blade. The top locks on easily onto the base and there are two speeds, high and low.
Lia started on low and that had plenty of power to chop of the zucchini a perfect size for another batch of bread. It even comes with a spatula, just the right size to scrape the sides.
Next we wanted to try chopping pecans. I have a hand chopper for nuts but the little pieces always got stuck in the chopping part and is a pain to get out. So let’s see how this mini chopper does on nuts.
Once again Lia loaded the cup with whole pecans, we put the top on and she hit the low speed button again. She tried the high and wow that has a lot of power!
Look how perfectly chopped the pecans are! They will be used on Lia’s next batch of zucchini bread! But I came up with another idea, they would be great to add as an ice cream topping.
Of course once we started chopping, there was no stopping. When I chop onions with a knife I always need to be careful because my knives are so sharp and the can slice my skin without me even knowing it until it’s too late. So the chopper is not only good for chopping, it’s good for safety. I cut the onion in chunks and Lia filled the cup. We added the top and she turned on the low speed and they were chopped perfectly in no time! Look how perfect the onions are for cooking, salads or burgers!
This chopper also comes with a whisk attachment for egg whites. I haven’t tried this attachment yet but I have the perfect recipe to try it out on.
My blogger friend Chef William has a delicious KETO breakfast sandwich that calls for whisking cream cheese and egg yolks together so I’m anxious to try this breakfast sandwich. Here is his delicious looking recipe where the eggs become the bun! https://ourlifeinmexico.com/keto-bacon-and-cheddar-breakfast-sandwich
The Oster Mini 3-Cup Mini Food Chopper is easy to use and easy to clean. It’s electric so has good power when chopping, even whole pecans chopped up with no problem. It holds up to three cups but it’s small enough to store without taking up lots of counter space. If you’re looking for a small but powerful electric food chopper, check out the Oster Mini Food Chopper! Even Lia approves of my little Oster chopper! Wait until you see the next batch of lemon zucchini bread Lia made with the chopped up zucchini and pecans, it was delicious!
If you missed Lia’s zucchini bread, here’s her blog complete with a video of her picking the zucchini from her garden! http://themarthareview.com/lias-zucchini-bread/
With such a great little chef in the kitchen, I would be eating way too much. She has a million-dollar smile so I would never be able to say enough already.. It appears that you have that challenge. I am willing to be that she will become a great Chef and Baker. Thanks for sharing the recipe and thanks for sharing all the wonderful pictures.
We do need portion control when Lia bakes Chef William! She makes little goodie baskets for our neighbors so that way I don’t eat everything. LOL. I’m so glad she enjoys baking and cooking, the memories come back of me doing this with her mommy when she was this young. Alex isn’t a chef but she whips up some awesome dishes. I see Lia doing the same!
I need to get one of these for Charlie who is taking a Cooking class for Homeschool. As well as my mother in law who is beginning to shake and cutting veggies isn’t always safe for her to do. Or even me whose hands don’t always work.
I’m sure Charlie (and you) would enjoy this mini chopper Glenda. Perfect for Charlie’s homeschool cooking class!
