Mountain Hiking Trip

It’s Wordless Wednesday and I found some hidden treasure photographs that were taken from Alexandra’s phone from our western North Carolina Mountain hiking trip last October. Beautiful scenery and waterfalls to see! Yes it’s Wordless Wednesday but I need to caption these!

Starting our hike down a path lined with trees along the babbling river.

Alexandra and Lia are watching this beautiful waterfall. When my sister saw this photo, she pointed out how Alex’s hair looked like an extension to the waterfall!

This is one of my favorite photographs. Alexandra choose the angle of the phone so when I took the picture it would get the sun rays and the rainbow. It’s all in the way you hold the camera! I love how Alex is sitting watching the waterfall.

Lia says, “Look at me, I’m on top of the world!” Okay it’s just a boulder but she thinks it’s the world.

This is a Wordless Wednesday blog I posted in October 2020 at the same location but it’s so beautiful that a few more photographs are worth looking at. I love the short video clips of Lia! http://themarthareview.com/hiking-waterfalls-rocks-and-mountains/

  1. Beautiful photos! I am so over winter now and want to be able to see trees and grass and nature–other than snow. Thanks for reminding me that’s it’s just a matter of time. I’ll practice patience. 😍

  3. LOVE these pictures Martha. I really enjoy seeing waterfalls and these look beautiful. I have been mostly to the eastern side of North Carolina, but I would love to explore this area one day. Added another spot on our to-do list, lol Thanks for sharing.

The western part of NC is full of beautiful scenery Samantha! So many waterfalls and mountain trails. It’s about a 5-6 hour drive but so worth it for a quick get-away. I hear the mountains calling us now!

  4. Beautiful! Being in Texas, I so miss the changing of the leaves!

That’s one of the things I miss since moving to SC Angie. But we can sneak away to the NC mountains and see some of the beautiful color changes.

  5. “She’s on the top of the world, looking down on creation…” – I love that picture of Lia!! She’s queen of the world. I love them all, actually. Looks like you all had a great day.

Beautiful photographs. It’s nice to see something autumnal at this point of the winter. Hiking through nature is such a peaceful way to spend a day. I’m glad that you all had such a good time.

The pictures are great, thanks for sharing. I wish I could get out into the country like that again but right now with this damn COVID thing it is pretty much a stay at home on the ranch so pictures like this are great to remind us of how great the country is

Thanks Chef William, COVID sure has put a damper on so much. When we go hiking there are very few people and those that are out are few and far between. I’m praying the country will be like it use to be but I’m not holding my breath. Until then keep sharing your delicious recipes, at least we all can still eat! LOL
