Money Box Instructions
If you are one of my steady readers you know I save everything, especially boxes! You never know when you will need one for shipping, storing or being creative on a project. This is my latest blog I wrote with some of my fun cardboard box projects. But I also save candy boxes! Check out my money box instructions I made from a heart shaped Valentine candy box!
Okay also if you know me, you know I am frugal, cheap or just always looking for a bargain. Since I don’t eat much candy anymore I waited until Valentine’s day was over and did my “box” shopping. I was able to get four heart shaped boxes of candy for $1.00 each! (I shared the candy but made sure to keep the boxes)
Inside the box is a plastic tray with out cuts in the shapes of the candy. After removing the chocolate, I washed the tray and put that with the inside paper covering back in the heart shaped box. Now here’s the fun part, you fold up different denominations of bills and put them in the plastic tray! Be creative, if for a birthday, you can have the bills add up to the age of the person you are giving this gift to. Maybe you’re looking to get an anniversary gift for someone, you can do the same thing for the number of years they have been married.
This is one heart shaped candy money box I made and I even put a note in it made from a sticker with the dollar bill under it. Can you read the note?
The holidays will be here soon and sometimes we scratch our heads wondering what to give someone. Gift cards are a good choice also but the money box is fun to watch them open!
Next time you get candy in a prettty shaped box, think twice before you throw it out!
I never heard of this. How creative!
(It’s not in our tradition to give cash, but, I can see this working for some other things.)
Just another one of my frugal ideas Roy and thinking outside the box!
That is such a cute idea. 🙂
I like coming up with different ideas when giving cash instead of just putting it in an envelope. Thanks for visiting Amanda!
