Missing our Neighbor Part 2
Before I get to my Friday Story I have to tell you about my big surprise yesterday! GG mama wrote an update about the stats for the first 15 days of the April Ultimate Blog Challenge. Was I surprised when she told me my blog Sharing My Hearts had 161 view, the second highest in the first half of the challenge. I want to thank everyone who visited my blog post, left comments and shared it. I love sharing my blogs and smiles with all of you. But now it’s time for another Friday Story Time by Lia!
Missing Our Neighbor Chapter 2
Today’s story is Chapter 2 of a blog I wrote last week, Missing Our Neighbor. Since I can’t visit her I stood at the end of the driveway last week with a big sign with hearts saying, “Hi Ruth”. I got another surprise when I found out the pictures from me waving to my neighbor got over 14,000 views on a FB page!
I had such a busy week doing baking and a craft project for Easter. It started with me making an Easter present for mommy and daddy. You may have seen my blog on Monday about My Easter Bunny Surprise, I couldn’t wait until Friday Story Time to post it because I was so excited to show everyone.
While I was waiting for my bunny to dry, mama and I got busy baking cookies. We made cookies with sprinkles again, those are my favorite and also made chocolate chip cookies. I have so much fun baking and licking the spatula too!
When the cookies were done it was time for a little break. Mama taught me how to dunk my cookie in milk and was that delicious!!
But my baking wasn’t finished. After Easter dinner mommy, mama and I made cupcakes that looked like butterflies and I even decorated them with sprinkles!
Now that all the baking was done it was time for GG mama and me to make Ruth an Easter basket. Mama and I even made the basket but she will share how we did that another day. I helped wrap up the cookies, added some candy and a card I made for Ruth. I was so excited when I carried the basket to the end of the driveway hoping I might see Ruth.
Mommy and I waited and watched mama take the basket over to Ruth. There she is, I see Ruth! She was in her doorway and I waved to her and she waved back! I miss going to visit but I’m glad I could yell hi to her from the driveway and make an Easter basket for her. Ruth was smiling and so was I. Sharing my love and smiles on Easter was extra special and I’ll continue to spread them to everyone. So be ready if you see me in the front yard to catch my smile and wave! ❤️
I hope you enjoyed my Friday Story Time this week, Missing My Neighbor Part 2. I love sharing smiles and love to my friends and counting the days to when I can go visit again.
Great story!
Thanks Roy, Lia sure made Ruth smile and that was the goal.
Awww! What a sweet story. I’m so glad that they had that moment.
I’m waiting for the day when things get back to normal so Lia can once again go visit her list of neighbors. She has a surprise for them when she delivers cookies in her little red wagon Jeanine.
This made me smile. It is so good to share treats with our friends. I also have to say you look very cute in your dress Lia.
Aww, I’ll let Lia know that Amanda. She wore a fancier dress for dinner but when she did baking after we changed it. I didn’t even realize it had bunnies on it!
That you take part in this UBC so sincerely is very inspiring Martha.I hope one day I can share pics of my great grand daughter too.Keep blogging.
Thanks Amanda, I enjoy a challenge and I think that’s what drew me into the UBC. Now it’s love for writing also.
I love how you wrote this from her perspective. Cute and adorable story on how we can still stay connected to neighbors during this time.
I enjoy put Lia’s story to word with the pictures I take. One day soon she will be writing her own blogs Ann! Thanks for visiting.
Can we be neighbors, Lia? !!
Lia and I would love it if we were neighbors Vidya! She’s taking a little rest after being so busy all day then when she wakes up we’ll make some cookies!
