Mama’s Minkys

Introducing Mama’s Minkys

What a perfect blog topic suggestion for Day 14 of the Ultimate Blog Challenge.  The topic is to post about a service or product that you sell and what better time to introduce Mama’s Minkys to my readers.

We have just closed our 53-year-old Mar-C’s Interiors business but will still be keeping the workroom and fabricating beautiful window treatments, we just won’t have the retail end of it.  But the exciting part is we are starting another business, we just can’t get enough of sewing!

Mama’s Minkys was born just before our 5th great-granddaughter, Lia Faith, was born. I found the most adorable pink butterfly fabric and a super soft pink Minky fabric and made our first Minky blanket for Lia’s baby shower.  It was shortly after that when Alexandra said we need to make Minkys!

Our Minky blankets have a poly/cotton print fabric on the face with the Minky fabric on the back and the front banding.  We are starting out with pink, blue, mint green, lilac, silver-gray and turquoise Minky fabric and a variety of print fabrics to choose from for the face of the blanket.  We can also add a matching pillow to your order.

Our granddaughter has been working on a Facebook page but it hadn’t been published until I read the suggested blog topic and Alex got right to it and published our page!  It still has a way to go plus we will be adding more fabrics to our Minky blankets.  You can visit our page here https://www.facebook.com/MamasMinkys/ and would appreciate any FaceBook page likes also!

Minky fur is so soft and cuddly but the blankets aren’t just for babies, we will be adding adult sizes in faux fur Minky with faux silk on the face for a luxurious blanket to wrap up in while reading, watching TV, or just wrap up in a furry blanket to keep you warm.

The ordering process is simple, customers pick their Minky color then pick a print fabric to complete the choice.  If they have a pattern in mind that we do not carry, just let us know and we will search for their favorite pattern.   We are searching for a pineapple fabric for a customer to go with yellow Minky fabric, this will be such a fun combination.

Since our granddaughter (Lia’s mom) started “working” with us at Mar-C’s Interiors at 6 weeks old, we thought it was fitting to have her daughter start working at Mama’s Minkys at the same age.  We have given Lia Faith the title of Quality Control Inspector.  So far she has loved them all but she is known to fall asleep on the job!
