Lovely Wordless Wednesday

Today I have one picture, I’m naming it Lovely Wordless Wednesday. I snapped this picture yesterday of two cardinals on the fence kissing, it was just too cute! I took it with my phone and through the glass door because I didn’t want to bother them.

Not so Wordless Wednesday
These are a pictorial story of some of the rose bushes in my backyard. This corner needed sprucing up so I removed the old mulch and put new down. But I didn’t have any more rocks to use as edging and I didn’t want to put the plastic border back down. So once again, I used what was hanging around the yard…. tree branches that I cut last fall and I was waiting to see if someone could use them. That someone was me! I call it my redneck border edging!

Pop’s Dodger Corner
When Rich would finish mowing or working in the yard, he would sit in his Dodger chair with a Pepsi and watch the birds while talking with Snowball. After I cleaned up the roses, I put his chair back in the same spot with the Dodger flag and stepping stone. Lia got him the blue pinwheel a few years ago, it’s Dodger blue.

When I took this picture, it was like Snowball was listening to Pop talk with him, this is exactly where he sat when they were together. While I mentioned I had one picture named Lovely Wordless Wednesday, actually the other pictures are also Lovely Wordless Wednesday, just with added words. They are all memories of love to hold on to.
Your garden photos are making me itch for spring here. Nothing has come up yet.
Thanks Barbara, I lost all last year in the gardens so the entire yard needed TLC. I’m happy how everything is turning out.
Awww! I love that pic with Snowball, as if he is still listening. Maybe he is! And I love the other pics, too, especially the border of branches.
Thanks Jeanine, I can always find something to turn it into what I need!
I like the tree branches you used to put around the rose bushes, and while I don’t approve of Rich drinking Pepsi (team Coca-Cola here) Pop’s Dodger Corner is way cool!
Your yard’s getting some MLB drama it seems — Dodgers in the corner, Cardinals on the fence! Sorry, couldn’t resist.
LOL I didn’t even think about the Cardinals Tamara! I’m happy they way the branches seem to all fall in place.
Love the idea for the rose bushes!
Thanks Angie, I save everything for a reason!
How wonderful to get your garden going again, and what sweet memories of Rich. Plus, Snowball is just naturally adorable!
It took a year of doing nothing in the yard Alice but it’s shaping up!
Martha, I love the image of the cardinals kissing! And the branch-edged planter area with the mulch is lovely and relaxing. I hope to have my own garden into the fluffy stage soon! Thanks for sharing these great images.
It was just luck that I was looking outside when the Cardinals were on the fence Kebba. I feel like the branches are bring out the country in us and I love the way it turned out.
