Look What I Have to Play On!
It’s Friday Story Time by Lia again and look what I have to play on! It was suppose to be a surprise but I saw the big box in the back yard. When I went out to see what pop was doing I saw a lot of parts and pieces. After I started pulling them out of the box I saw a slide and swings, I’M GOING TO HAVE A SWINGSET in the back yard as soon as we get it put together!
My goodness, I have never seen so many tubes, bars, parts and pieces that were in the big box! The first thing I helped with was putting the top bar together then attach the legs. I was so excited when I found the blue swings in the box and I set them by the bar I put together.
The main frame went together without a hitch and then it was time for the center support bars. After measuring up where it had to go, I carefully put the bolt through the hole then I had to tighten it with a little wrench that came with the swing set.
I had to call pop for backup in the tight corner but between the two of us we got it tight! This is becoming more exciting to see it getting done.
Before we know it, the swing set was all put together! It has 2 swings, a swinging bar, a teeter totter and slide! Mommy and I tried out the swings and it was so much fun! I love the colors, they are happy colors!
Check out my video of the first time going down the slide and riding the teeter totter with mommy!
Look at me swinging all by myself! It’s a little to high for me to get on the seat by myself but I can swing on my tummy and make the swing go high!
The slide is so much fun! I hopped up the steps, grabbed the handles and said, “READY, SET, GO” and slid down the slide!
The next day I went back outside to play on my swing set. Pop even set up my basketball hoop and brought my other slide outdoors. It was hot and sunny so I grabbed a towel to sit on so I wouldn’t burn my legs.
I can’t wait until Carlos can come over to swing and teeter totter with me! I’m still on my medicine so have to wait until I’m better for him to come over. But mama was on the other end and pushed me up and down!
Then I had a cool idea! I put the towel over the metal bar and sat on it so I could grab both handles and push it back and forth by myself! I can figure out ways to have fun all by myself. But when Carlos comes over again we will have so much fun together!
But look at my new teeter totter partner! Rusty sits on the seat and even holds onto the bar with his front paws! It’s that so cute!
While I was over helping with the swing set, Rusty was watching from the other side of the yard. I would run over to pet him and make sure he was okay then run back to my swings!
Look at me swing so high! Mama and Rusty are behind me watching. I even figured out how to get off by myself, I let the swing slow down, hold on to the chains and slide my butt off the swing! I don’t even fall doing it that way.
I love being outdoors helping pop mow the lawn, wash the truck, work in the gardens and pick vegetables. I also love to ride my bike to the mailbox and I make sure I listen to mama and stay on the sidewalk. But now I can go out and play on my swing set when ever I want to! I hope you enjoyed my fun Friday Story Time about my new swing set! See you next Friday!
I remember how excited my kids were when we installed their swing set. Since some of them were pretty old (and big), we dug down 1 foot and encased the anchors in concrete! It’s 30 years later and the folks who bought the house complained how tough it was to rid themselves of the set 🙂 >
OMG I remember my swing set way back when having the anchors in concrete Roy! We haven’t put the anchors on this one yet, want to make sure it’s in the right location in the back yard. But Lia loves it!
Wow, Lia, I am sure you will have so much fun on your swing set.
Lia says thank you Brenda! It’s set up so when she’s swinging, she can look over and see her garden!
Lia and Rusty are so cute together. I remember my excitement at getting a swing set as a kid. I hope she has lots of fond memories for years to come.
I remember my first swing set too Kemkem, almmost 70 years ago! Lia loves being outdoors and now she can have something to do and Rusty too!
What can you say!? She wanted a swing set, she helped build it , she really enjoys the out doors,at 2 years old she has learned so much, loves do everything, never says no, better shuuu.might get mushy!
I love all of the enthusiasm Lia has for everything Rich. Hopefully all the memories will make her smile when she get’s older.
That looks like fun Lia! 🙂 I had a swing growing up. I loved it.
Watching Lia swing brings back memories from when I was young and had a swing set Amanda. Every little one needs to swing!
