Listening To Music
Listening To Music
Listening to music can do so much for us. Sometimes it can be relaxing after a long day, other times it can be upbeat and cheer us up. There are many different styles of music and rhythm and it can change our mood and feelings instantly.
Write about a song or musical piece that affects you in one way or another.
There are actually two songs that affect me. The first one is “I’m in a Hurry and Don’t Know Why”. The song is about being in a hurry when all we really have to do is live and die. I am always rushing, whether it be at work, around the house or even in a grocery store. When I hear this song, I realize that rushing really gets us no where.
But the other song that I would have to say is my favorite Alabama song is “Angels Among Us”. This is a song about a young boy walking home from school and lost his way. When a kind old man took his hand and walked him home, it was God that was leading the way. This is true on so many different instances but one especially when something happened to me. I was sick and I left earth and went to Heaven. It was so beautiful, Angels all around me. From up above, I could see and hear the doctor telling me to wake up and not leave. A short time later, a hand guided me back. Some people may find this hard to believe but it was the most beautiful place with the Angels but it just wasn’t my time yet. So while this song is so beautiful, it has an extra special meaning to me.
Do you have a special song that affects you or that you love the tune you are constantly singing or humming the song?
Their home town is an hour away from me and I am often there. Its common to see them around. I grew up listening to their music.
When they started hanging out at “the beach”, even before they had a name, the group would hang out at my sister’s mobile home and jam with her and her friends. I enjoy so many of their songs, but these two have special meaning. Thanks for stopping by Andria.
Well…one hot summer day long ago I was working the Jonesville annual craft show with Oogesti, debating inwardly whether to call an attractive man *just* about a *job* or “do The Rules” and wait for him to call me about a date. A local character known as Elvis Gibson, who didn’t try to move like Elvis Presley but did dress and sing reasonably like him, was doing a karaoke version of “Don’t Be Cruel.” Listening to that song, I thought, “I’ll take it as a sign and call him.” This led to a long-term temporary job I thoroughly enjoyed *and* to the man asking me for a date, as per The Rules…and he’s still the one I refer to as my Significant Other.
How sweet it that Priscilla! I’m sure your eyes light up every time you hear that song. Thanks for sharing your story!
