Lia’s Cake Mix Cookies
It’s Friday Story Time by Lia again! You may have seen pictures of the delicious cookies I made during the week and I told you I would share my recipe and some videos. You only need two ingredients plus a box of cake mix.
I used a package of white cake mix, added 2 eggs and 1/2 cup of oil. That’s it, just mix everything together and bake at 350 degrees for about 8 minutes. I ended up with 34 cookies but that doesn’t count the dough that GGmama and I ate while making them!
After dumping the cake mix in the bowl, I added the eggs and oil. I learned how to turn the mixer on slowly, last time I turned it on and it went way too fast! After everything was mixed together, I scraped the bowl and beater.
But I made sure to leave some batter on the beater so I could lick it off! Mama told me she did the same thing when she use to bake with her gramma.
After dropping spoonfuls of dough on the baking mat, I remembered mommy told me on one of my other baking projects to pat the dough down. So I pat, pat, pat the cookies!
Mommy got me a jar of pretty cookie decorations and I love stars so that’s what I added to some of my cookies.
The next step was to add a little star on each cookie. I’m so proud of how they turned out!
I like the cute little cupcake sprinkles so I added those to the top of the cookie dough. When I use sprinkles I don’t need any frosting on my cookies!
For the next batch of dough we put some in a bowl and I added some pink and blue sprinkles, mixing them together. After I dropped the spoonfuls of dough on the cookie mat, I pat, pat, pat them again!
Don’t my cookies look delicious?? Some have little stars, others have little cupcakes and then there are the ones with sprinkles mixed in the dough.
So most times when I bake, I’m done when the cookies come out of the oven but mama had a surprise for me this time. She said who ever makes a mess in the kitchen has to clean it up. Well we didn’t make a mess but we did have pans and bowls to wash. So mama washed them and I helped dry them. It’s fun to help from start to finish.
Baking is so much fun and I think GGmama loves it as much as I do. I hope you enjoyed my cake mix cookies blog, I’ll be back soon with another Friday Story Time by Lia the Baby Blogger!

I also realize the possibility for making a variety of cookies using this simple recipe is amazing! I’ve heard of cake cookies but have never seen them actually made. Now I know the secret!
Oh yes Julie, you can add a variety of ingredients to make a one of a kind cookie! Nuts, chocolate chips, dried fruit and maybe even a bit of peanut butter in the batter! Now you get me thinking for our next batch!
