Lia’s Cake Decorating Challenge
I’m so excited since this is my first April Ultimate Blog Challenge! Ma and I haven’t been blogging since the January challenge but today I’m sharing my cake decorating challenge for Friday Story Time by Lia since it’s challenge week for us. If you are new to the UBC, my name is Lia and I’m 4 years old. Martha (I call her Ma) is my great-grandma and I have been baking and cooking with her since I was little. I bake all kinds of yummy desserts and I’m working on ideas for my next Lia’s Sunshine Bakery Alzheimer’s Fundraiser bake sale coming up in a few weeks.
I told Ma I wanted to bake a cake for Easter but she said it’s too early and we should wait until Saturday. But since we had a few pieces of cake she made the other day I decided I wanted to try my cake decorating skills before I decorated my Easter cake.
The frosting I make for my Italian cookies is easy to make but delicious, it’s just confectionary sugar, milk, butter and flavoring. But when I opened the refrigerator I saw the cream cheese and changed my recipe. Instead of butter, Ma helped me melt a slice of cream cheese and I added that to the sugar and milk. It made the frosting taste so creamy good!
I carefully frosted the pieces of cake but some of the cake top got in the frosting. After I finished I told Ma it looked like Oreo cream frosting! Next I added some Easter peeps and sprinkles, you know I LOVE sprinkles. The decorated cakes looked so good but they was missing something.
Carrots! Bunnies eat carrots so I sorted out some orange sprinkles from one of my jars and put them around the frosting to make them look like little carrots! Ma didn’t have bunny peeps but she’s going to get some for my Easter decorating project!
Tada! My cake decorating challenge is finished. This is the first time I decorated cakes all by myself, do you like my cake decorating? I can’t wait to decorate our Easter cake in a few days! I’ll be sure to share a picture of my decorated Easter cake! See you all next week for another Friday Story Time by Lia!
The decorating is beautiful and I love cream cheese frosting! Thanks, Lia. Can’t wait to see your Easter cake.
Nice and cool pictures, especially the one with you and Lia together. It looks like Lia was up for this challenge. Good job, Lia!
Thank Danwil, Lia is always up for a challenge.
Dear Lia, I have been waiting all week long for your blog post. Something told me it was going to involve sprinkles, and you didn’t disappoint! You did a wonderful job, and I can’t wait to see what you come up with for Easter.
I’m gonna send your Ma a picture of the Easter Cake I made today, it’s a carrot cake, and in Switzerland we are lucky enough to find marzipan carrots at every supermarket. I think they’re cute.
