Lia’s 1st Birthday!
Twelve days before Lia’s 1st birthday, I wrote a countdown blog where each day was happenings of her first twelve months. http://themarthareview.com/from-birth-to-a-year-old/ I’m a bit late putting the final chapter together for Lia but better late than never as the saying goes. I will add this to the end of the book I plan to write with the 12 day countdown and give to Lia on her 18th birthday. Lia had a wonderful birthday that lasted all weekend! Happy 1st Birthday Lia!
Friday August 23, 2019 Lia’s Birthday
Lia and her mommy and daddy came out on her birthday to set up for her party which was held on Saturday. I think she knew it was her birthday because she was so happy and excited all day!
Saturday August 24, 2019 Birthday Party
Lia’s mommy did an awesome job decorating our backyard with over 100 balloons and Finding Nemo decorations. It was a cloudy day and we kept watching the weather for any rain. As fate would have it, right at 3:00PM party time, the heaven’s opened up and it started to pour! But that didn’t stop everyone from having a wonderful time celebrating with Lia.
Plan B went into action and we set up the food in the garage. I printed out poster sized pictures of Lia from birth to a year and had them posted in the walls and some were even pictures of Lia and her mommy at the same age!
What a great time we all had even though we had to move the party inside. You could say we definitely had a full house!!
Birthday Cake Time!
Lia has loved watching Find Nemo since she has been about 5 months old so of course that was the theme of her party. A picture cake with Nemo and Dory was perfect along with a little smash cake just for Lia.
What started out as Lia being a very neat eater ended up looking like a fight with the cake!! LOL Sugar shock got to her part way through and a quick bath and short nap was in store before the party continued.
Lia’s 1st birthday party was over but not her celebration. That continued all weekend!
Sunday August 25, 2019
Sunday morning Lia woke up all refreshed and ready to continue on her celebration at Ripley’s Aquarium in Myrtle Beach. She loved looking at all the fish, getting up close to see Dory and even petted a horseshoe crab! But like all good things, it was time to leave. But, it’s still not over!
Buid-a-Bear
So many bears, which one does Lia want? She picked a pink one and took it to the stuffing station. After it was stuffed, Lia picked a heart to put inside her bear. Her bear is complete and Lia is loving her bear.
But because it was Lia’s birthday, she even got a birthday bear! So their little family is complete with mommy, daddy, Lia and her two bears.
Lia’s birthday weekend was so special with so many people stopping by to wish her a happy 1st birthday. Lia’s uncle Zac (mommy’s brother) came down from Indiana, he wouldn’t miss this event for anything! The following day we went for family photos and now we can say the party is over!
Have you ever seen such an adorable picture? Before Zac was going ready to drive back to Indiana, Alexandra and Zac climbed on our fence just like they did when there were little tykes when they visited us. I got some great memory photos of the two of them and all of a sudden Lia’s little head popped up in the center! This is definitely the best picture of our grandchildren and our great granddaughter.
There’s something else we did when cutting Lia’s cake. Back when Alexandra was 5 years old, we ordered her a photo cake and I didn’t have the heart to cut into the picture so we cut around it and I froze it. When we saw Lia’s cake, her mommy said the same thing, we can’t cut into the picture! So we cut around her picture and I froze it for the night. The next morning I sliced the cake horizontally leaving just enough cake to hold the picture together. I now have but Alexandra’s and Lia’s cake in the freezer! Now you know I REALLY save everything!
What a beautiful family! I hope Lia had as good of a time as it looks in the pictures. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Camilla, from her reactions of her weekend birthday party, she had a great time. I know she won’t remember when she’s older so that’s why I want to write a book about her 12 mounth countdown and her 1st birthday party. I have 17 years to get it done! LOL
Aww such adorable birthday pics.Loved the idea of having Lia and her moms pics side by side.Having a great grand daughter looks magical.Good idea about the picture cake.I wouldnt be able to cut either😯
Thanks Amrita! It was so much fun planning Lia’s party with her mommy. Lia is like Alex’s little clone, the things she does brings back so many memories of Alex! Thanks for visiting.
I’m so glad she had a great 1st birthday.
Lia’s 1st year seemed to go by so fast Amanda! But she sure had an exciting year and made many memories.
